My FH proposed to me while vacationing in Riveria Maya, Mexico. We were staying at the Riu Palace, and every night we walked by this gazebo on the beach. One night, Wednesday July 23rd, 2008, he wanted to take some pics of me on gazebo. Weird. So I go and I pose and stuff and than he says 'Here, why don't you put this on' and underhand threw a black box at me. IT HIT ME IN MY FACE and fell to the floor. Well, I got mad at him b/c I thought he bought me earrings ( we went for our 3 year, which is April 18th, and the vacation was our gift to each other) and I started YELLING at him 'why did you do that??!! You knew we spent a lot of money on this trip!!' and than I opened the box, and tada a ring. Well I started doing this embarrassing Laugh/Cry thing and kept telling him to 'shut up' but in the 'get the hell out of here are you seriously asking me' way. And before he could even ask, I was saying yes. But the catch is, and this is another funny part, in order for him to take the ring out of his carry on and for me not see it, he had to start a fight with me and piss me off so bad that I would storm into the bathroom. All that to take the ring and put in his pocket.
FH brought a replica of the ring with us on vacation. I got the real thing the night we got home. I almost fainted b/c it was so vibrant and beautiful. And that was one of the happiest days of my life.

Mine is not romantic at all. FH isn't the romantic type.
During an intense game of Rock Band, FH asked when we were exchanging Christmas gifts and told me mine was under the tree. It was a beautiful hand-crafted Disney centerpiece with Mickey Mouse and Pluto riding a sleigh. I went to get FH's gift which was stored in a closet, but he had piled boxes on top of it. I asked him to help me move the boxes, and as he put one of the boxes down, it had a ring box on it.
I opened it and immediately said 'Are you serious???' FHsaid no and took it back. After he put the ring on my finger, I started hugging and kissing him, and he suddenly said 'So you haven't answered me.' My response was 'You haven't asked me anything.' He looked me dead in the eye and said....'So, you wanna?'

I knew it was coming because we went looking for rings and i found a beautiful one but i didn't realize it was coming so soon.
I was working Christmas Eve Eve (23rd) in the city and was already in a bad mood cuz i had to go home and do so much stuff still for the holidays. So when he called me saying he was going to take a half day and was gonna meet me in the city to see the tree i said, 'no.. i dont wanna go, i have to much to do' and was basically being so mean to him. So i felt bad and finally said yes but asked him to meet me at work so we could go together and was about to start another fight but i gave in.
So i met him at the tree and we wandered around and it was daamn freaking cold out (yes.. damn freaking cold lol). So he gave me a single red hand made oragami rose and said something like (cuz i dont really remember), 'with the first batch i made you u said that that's the moment you started to fall in love with me. Well, with this one i hope you love me for the rest of your life' and i started freaking out cuz i realized what was happening and i turned around and there he was on one knee and a ring, right in the middle of rockefeller center christmas eve eve.
He went to a lot of trouble that day cuz he took the whole day off, went to my house to ask my mom's permission, had to get clothes for me cuz we were staying overnight in the city, and had to go to the train station to get my car so i wouldn't get a aticket for leaving it there overnight.

Yea, he's 'special' The funniest thing is, when we told our friends and family, they weren't at all surprised with it b/c they know that's how he is.

fh took me , my parents and his parents out for dinner and while i was outside smoking he put it in the dish and then when i got back in he asked me to marry him.

We had gone looking for rings awhile before and I had given strict 'suggestions' of what I wanted lol so I had a feeling it would be some time soon. However, I was totally shocked! It had been taking a bit longer to get the ring made so I figured it would be at least another week or two. Well, on Saturday 6-7-08 FH met me at my house to go to my cousin's graduation party. My parents had gone ahead because I was studying for my CPA exam and was going to meet my family there later on with FH. Keep in mind his air conditioning had broke in his car so he was dying in traffic on the way here also with the nerves of proposing, poor guy lol. So, he finally gets here and has a shirt box with him. He tells me it's my yankee jersey, because he had gotten me one for Christmas and it was the wrong size so we finally exchanged it and got the number put on it and it was finally ready. So he tells me that his mom made him wrap it since it was technically a gift. That statement is very typical of his mom so I thought nothing of it. Of course the first thing I do when he gets in is go to grab the box to see my jersey and he's like hold on let me just get settled first. He comes in he's trying to cool down, I get him water and as he's standing in front of my air conditioner I decide to run over to the box and state 'I want to try on my jersey now.' Let me tell you words cannot explain what I felt when I opened that box expecting to see pin stripes and saw pink roses with a ring box in the middle, I literally fell apart as he suddenly is at my side. I mean I was wimpering like a dog lol as he gets on his knee and asks if I will marry him. He had to say it twice before I finally said yes lol bc no words were coming out of my mouth except for OMG and are you kidding me????? So then I got to go to my aunts with this ring on my finger that I feel is fake or that the situation is made up because its so unreal and I haven't worn a ring since I was 11 lol. I get to my aunts run to the back and just start jumping up and down holding my hand lol. It was awesome!!

Christmas morning, he hung the ring on our Christmas tree. I'm oblivious so he had to finally point it out to me. When he went to take the ring off I guess he was so nervous and yanked on the tree and it fell over on him! Makes for a memorable moment.

he told me we were going out for a fancy work party but the truth wound up being that he hired a limo and took me out for a night in nyc. we stayed at the london hotel (where he set up the proposal) , rode around in the limo for 2 hrs drinking champagne, and then went out for dinner at tao. the next day we hung out in central park for awhile and went to see a matinee show before going home

I love hearing everyones story. Heres mine:
It was 2 days after Vday and I decided I would cook for FH because we didnt do much on Vday since it snowed and was bad out, plus it was a week day. So I cook a nice meal, going crazy to pick stuff out for him since he is very picky. While Im cooking my mom gets a call and drops what shes doing and says she'll be oing to have dnner at my sisters. This is usual so I didnt think anything of it. Hes always early but calls and says hes late, The one time Im ready, Anyway he gets here, we eat romantically, I cleaned up and then he reads me a very nice and sweet poem and asks me to marry him. A short while after everyone came over.

oh i never answered the question at hand lol...
Fh and i technically started officially dationg via text message. he kinda was pushing me into a relationship and would joke about it and finally i was like ok pick a date (to make it official) but i had actually texted him that..so he always told me he would propose via text message and i told him i'd kill him if he did.
well.....we took our friends to dinner for his friends bday and when i got home..there was a trail of rose petals leading to our bedroom and all over the bed. on a pillow my old cell phone was propped up and it had a text message on the screen that said 'will you marry me'. the ring was attached to the antenna with fishing line
i would like to add that during the walk from the car to the house, i was so nervous that i called her ugly. THATS RIGHT!! thats how i roll

FH and I were talking about getting married for awhile.
On Christmas Eve exchanging gifts with my family he gave me my one present a new GPS and said I have another present for you but I am not giving it to you till we get to your Uncle's house tomorrow. So the rest of the night I kept going what did you get me. I knew whatever it was it was in his bag and I would pretend to get up to the point were I had to go on the inside of the bed so he knew I wouldnt go through his bag. I woke up really early the next morning because I couldnt sleep. So I started to poke him and bother him asking what did he get me why cant he give it to me until the afternoon. Eventually he had enough told me to go out of my room and wait till he called me back. Like 3 mins later he calls me back is kneeling on one knee on my floor. Said that I am the woman of his dreams and wants to spend the rest of my life with me and would i marry him.
He later told me he was getting to nervous to ask me in front of all my family.
