Since my birthday was in the middle of the week Dwayne thought it was best to wait until the Friday for us to go out and celebrate. I agreed. Dwayne was working late as usual and gets home around 8:00... Except for that Wednesday... I tried calling him several times at work, and there was no answer... I called my mom telling her how I was worried about him, and at its way passed the time he usually gets home. She reassured me that he was fine... and maybe went out to dinner with his friends and co-workers. He finally showed up around 10:00 and had no explanation of where he was... I figured he was just out getting me a b day gift... waiting for the last minute.

Finally, Friday comes and Dwayne picks me up from work and he is so cute... he had the entire night planned out.



First we went to Carmines, our favorite Italian restaurant in the city where Dwayne gave me my birthday card with tickets for the Broadway show 'Movin' Out'.

Next we went to Toy's R Us and took a ride on the ferris wheel... It was great, we sat in the Barbie Cart... I was wondering why he picked that one... but now I know. If you look in the picture there is a HUGE diamond ring behind his head... I wasn't even thinking of it... so I didn't even realize, but he did it for a CLUE! (I didn't know we were playing CSI)

Then we were off to Central Park for a horse and carriage ride... and THATS WHERE HE DID IT! It was beautiful... I was so happy... and crying... everything was perfect... except... I screamed out... OH MY GOD! DID YOU ASK MY MOM! And... Of course, that is where he was that Wednesday!!! My mom was with him... He really pulled it off!!! I couldn't believe it!

And that wasn't even it!!! Then we were off to 'Movin' Out' which was fantastic...

All and all it was a beautifully planned night... and there is no one else in the world that I would rather be with!

That is so cute!!!!!

We went down to Disney for Valentine's Day and when we first arrived our room wasn't ready so we went over to Magic Kingdom and he said he didn't want to go on any rides, b/c he had all our money in his wallet. He was a little up tight about it, I though he was loosing it, but it turns out he had the ring with him.

Valentines Day week was also the National Cheerleading Competion so there was 1,000 of HS cheerleaders in the park it was a little more crowded then we expected so there wasn't a private moment to be found.

We got back to our room on Valentines Day and they hadn't cleaned the room Rob could have passed out. So we found the maid got clean towels and showered up to go out to dinner. As I was finishing getting ready he was cleaning the room making the bed. I'm like what are you doing. He's like I just want the room to look nice. I finished getting ready and sat on the bed he came over and said I know we said we wouldn't get each other a gift for Valentines day, but I couldn't help myself, and he pulled out the ring.

it was the day we were signing the contract at leonnards.. we had the whole day planned we were going to check out westbury gardens b/t thats were we wanted to take our pictures...
we looked at all the spots we wanted.. took our pictures.. we went to go get the paperwork from the lady at the desk... Brian said lets go read then by the picnic tables under the tree...we went over them.. made the decision thats where we want to take our pics... so we got up to leave.. he stopped and said wait i forgot something at the table.. dope that i am i keep walking.. he said wait turn around.. and he was down on 1 knee.. it was cuteee

It was 4 years after we been together on Christmas day. Usually all of the family surrounds the tree and open presents. All of them were open and I didnt see that I got anything from him. I was a little depressed but ok with not receiving anything because we were young and we didnt have tons of money.

So while I am cleaning up all of the wrapping paper, I look up and he is holding open the box. I was so shocked, my sister started crying, my mother was grinning.

I dont even remember him asking or me saying. I may have to do this all over again after hearing you guys stories.

AWWWWW...that so sweet...what a great Christmas gift!!!

I will be posting my formal engagement story this summer!! While we are, technically, engaged, there was never any proper or traditional way of asking..We just both knew and it was like a promise to each other before he went to Iraq..FH and I always wanted to be married in 07 so this is why the planning..so when he gets back this summer I'll get a traditional proposal and a ring...and I'll be sure and get the story to ya

My FH has had knee surgery and I was at his house for about a week taking care of him. He decided to give me a day to go back to work and his friend took care of him for the day. I tried calling him a few times during the day with no answer. I was actually getting upset. Well he calls me at 7:00 pm and askes me to come over. I was trying to wrap x-mass gifts (since I was taking care of him for a week I fell behind) and still angry cause for someone who cant walk or drive was out all day. Well I went over his house and he made me feel bad for getting angry at him. So he was telling me I cant get angry since he wants to spend the rest of his life with me. He slid his one good leg off of the couch and asked me to marry him and pulled the ring out from under his pillow. I forgot that I was ever even mad at him. Thats where he was all day shopping for my ring.

we were in Turkey in July, and the last night he proposed at his uncles summer house. we were walking around the propery and sat by the pool it was a beautiful night and he said i have something for you... he got down on one knee and proposed i starting crying i was soo surprised!! its definetly a trip to remember!!!

after 6 years of dating, he surprised me on christmas day. i was opening up my presents, and i had gotten, a gameboy, some games, a day at a spa, and some gift cards. i was like oh ok.. cool. I went to the bedroom, and sat and looked at the mirror. i said to myself, ok, maybe not this time.. when i came back, there was a mahogony box where i was sitting. He was at the kitchen at the time. I thought it was a bracelet or smoething, because of the size of the box, ( he fooled me). when i opened it up, it was my beautiful ring. when i turned around my fiance was on one knee, and he had a champagne bottle with cups in his other hand. I was crying.. i must of said yes, a zillion times...

He made me think that he was having second thoughts about the relationship (which was so wierd bc we are so happy together). He found out that I knew he was talking to a jeweler and wanted to throw me off. He said he wanted to spend a QT day in the city to see if we could 'revamp' the relationship- I could have killed him!!!! When I asked him about ever getting engaged (bc we had already had looked at rings and were planning on it) he said 'Let's just see if we could get over this bump in our relationship first'

Finally after a really nice day in the city we went back to our hotel, to the roof top bar. He was going to do it then but he didn't talk to my mom yet so he wanted to ask her first. Then we went off to dinner in Little Italy and he called my mom and of course she gave her blessing. We decided to go back to the hotel bar to decide if we wanted to go out later.

When we got there I could tell he was nervous- his leg kept jumping up and down! Then he asked me to go outside with him. It was so beautiful there, on the roof, with the whole city all lit up. So we were just enjoying the view cuddling when he goes, 'I wanted to do this earlier but...' and I am like 'what what what?' as he is getting down on one knee. I couldn't believe it!!! When he said 'Will you marry me?' I thought I was going down for the count!!! Thankfully I kept my bearings about me and as he slipped the most beautiful ring on my finger, I was just the happiest woman in the world!!!

After we made a few calls, we spent the rest of the night in the city going dancing and just celebrating the two of us. We had the best time. It was def the best night of my life.
