Re: How did you.....
We had to have a summer wedding b/c I'm a teacher and wanted to make sure we could honeymoon right after the wedding. We picked our date (July 4th) mostly because it was a little cheaper than the other date we were considering. We're excited about having our anniverary on a holiday, though!
imyurfavgrl, your bday is 9/22? Mine is 9/25!

Re: How did you.....
We picked the month b/c I am a teacher and we wanted to go on our honeymoon right after the wedding, and of all the dates available July 21st is smack in the middle of summer, so I have some time before to prepare and some time after to regroup.

Re: How did you.....
We picked ours b/c FH was in his first year of law school when we got engaged (March 05). It seemed like torture to wait more than a year to get married, plus we didn't want it to affect his work prospects for summer 06. So the first weekend of January was the only way to go.

Re: How did you.....
Ours is the anniversary of our second date. Since I met him online, our first date was someplace public - Jillians in Farmingdale. The second date he came to my apartment for dinner. This date is much more special to us.

Re: How did you.....
We had to make sure that we weren't conflicting with any other family members wedding, and I wanted a wedding during nice weather but not too hot, so we picked the beginning of June.

We wanted a spring wedding but didn't want to pay the price...So we took the last day in March & the last day of winter pricing This way we have a chance of some decent weather!

Re: How did you.....
Spring is my fave season and I've always thought June is the perfect month for a wedding. Probably bc I was the FG for a wedding in June, 1st one I ever went to.
And I wanted a Saturday night, so that left us with 3 choices. Then I counted out when I'm expected to get my period that month, and I don't want it for our HM so that knocked one out.
Finally I decided I really like the way 6/10/06 looks and voila, our date was decided!!

Re: How did you.....
I wanted a May wedding or October, he didn't like October so we went with May. The actual day I based upon when I was getting my period (I'm on the pill so it was easy to figure out)

Re: How did you.....
Well... my original date was July 30th. We chose that because I was a teacher and it was nice because I had a month to do all the last minute stuff after school ended, and still had a month before school started again.
When I decided I wasn't teaching anymore, I wanted to change the date, I am not good with heat and I wanted the ceremony and CH to be outside without me getting all hot and stuff. Soo... I went back to Westbury manor and they told me they had May 28th open, the sunday of memorial day weekend, and thought it was perfect because then people would have the next day off and all of our OOT guests wouldn't have to worry about driving home after the wedding if they didn't want to!
Wow that was long.

So since Kissy took the last day of winter pricing... I had to take the 'third' to last day of winter pricing... hehehehe
It was all about the $$.
I DID want to do it May 28th - a Sunday and my parent's anniversary. But...I'm glad we are doing it two months earlier!!! I can't wait.

Re: How did you.....
We knew we wanted summer and this date and 2 dates in August were the only ones that were open at our venue so we took it! We though aug might be too hot for an ourdoor ceremony and ch.

Re: How did you.....
Mine is pretty random. I love April, but the first weekend is April Fools day and my friends s*ck, so that was out The next weekend is passover, so we didn't want to do it then. April 8th just sounded nice to me.

Re: How did you.....
We wanted warm weather, but couldn't afford summer pricing. Ours is the week before Mother's Day, which is my hall's cutoff of spring pricing - - - saved ourselves about $40/plate.
It's all about the money...
