I am having so much trouble deciding because I fell in love with some many places and can't decide. I don't want to be disappointed with this because I know its the biggest decision I will make for the wedding.
How did you all do it!?!?!? I'm so envious!!!

Re: How did you....
For us we really just thought what are the three things that are most important to us in a venue and then looked for places that fit that that were within our range. . then just thought about what we would have to do to make a venue look like what we wanted. . so the two we came down too, one would need LOTS of flowers, lighting, decorating etc. .and one was almost perfect as was. . and had, light, a view of the water etc. .
and the most important thing was deciding WHO you were going to marry. . after that it's all cake!!

When we went to the hall that we ultimately picked, we just felt that was 'the one.' Maybe you need to look at a few more before you find 'the one.' We saw a lot that we loved, but no others gave us that feeling.

Hi Danielle,
Im going to give you some advice.
I see you have about 2 years until your wedding. Having a lot of time is going to give a lot of time to have 'decision regret'.
You might decide on a place, then say 'but maybe I should have'. You will buy a dress and say 'maybe I should still look..'
Try not to second guess yourself in the decisions and planning. I think something that helped me (and is in my personality) is that I made a decision and moved on. I found a dress I loved? Done! I didn't even LOOK at other dresses. I decide on colors and didn't think about it again. I decided on the photog and didn't look at any other ones.
What I would say is making these choices are BIG decisions and will decided the outcome of your wedding.
Try to narrow down the few places you like and what you like about them. I bet they are all beautiful and will offer their own unique charm to your wedding.
You will know. But believe that you WILL make the right decision. You will know it. For us it was luck. The place we booked had problems the day after we booked. The place we did get wanted our business so they made us a deal, but we WANTED to get married there.
You will KNOW.
And the other advice I am going to give you is if you haven't bought your dress yet, donate. Wait until a year in advance. That way you can really look and research different options.
You will be fine!!!! Don't you worry!

Re: How did you....
We had both been to the Jericho Terrace for other affairs and kind of had a feeling we'd like it. But once we walked in and had the most helpful BM who showed us around and gave us a great deal we knew. For myself also, it was walking into the room and picturing us there. It just felt right!!

So far...
East Wind Fox Hollow Swan Club
I keep toying with East Wind and Fox Hollow...
@ Sarahgetsmarried: That is some of the best advice I've heard yet! Thanks because that will help keep me grounded with everything (and I do tend to second guess hehe)

Re: How did you....
We made a mini-list of what we wanted in a venue (on the water, GREAT food and service were our top two must-haves-DH and I are total foodies lol!!!) and then we went around to those RHs that seemed to fit the bill. When we walked into Land's End, we just 'knew' it was the one...just an instinctual feeling I guess...sometimes, if you overthink a decision and overlook your gut feeling, you only end up driving yourself crazy... I also had the same feeling when I was trying on dresses BTW....I just knew when I saw it and put it on that I felt like a bride and it was 'the one!' So I guess my advice is....go with your feelings...which RH will make you feel like a bride and can you see yourself getting married in?

Re: How did you....
hey there, I chose fox hollow b.c I had been to 2 weddings - and they were the best weddings I had ever been to. the service was great, the booze wasnt watered down, and I had great memories of 2 couples that are still married to this day. As a matter of fact the first wedding I ever went to was at the fox hollow and i remember thinking ' I want to get married here one day'. I did keep my options open, but in the end fox hollow gave me the best price per person so it was a no brainer - for me at least.

Re: How did you....
We wanted someplace that had a good vibe and that didnt have that catering hall feeling. We wanted a hotel connected so whoever wanted to stay could and didnt have to drive and we wanted to have a brunch for our guests the next day. We wanted a small minimum with a decent price and of course good food. We were won offer at the bridal show and booked almost immediately.

Re: How did you....
FH and i saw 20+ venues! We were getting a little frustrated.... but when we finally entered ours, our jaws dropped and we just knew! (I almost cried! ). Keep you head up. I have about 10 or so venue photo albums. Check them out - maybe you may see something that catches your eye! Good luck.

Re: How did you....
We saw tons of RHs before we decided....we chose Floral Terrace because they were very willing to throw in lots of extras...they were very familiar with Guyanese Weddings...knew exactly what would be important to us.
For the price we got i think this was also the best deal...most affordable without having to cut out too much.
