for people you're inviting w/guest? Do you address the STD 'and guest'? Or, do you just send it to the person, and the 'and guest' comes later on the actual invite?

i did the 'and guest' but i think most people do it the other way. i just wanted people to know that they'e allowed to bring someone so if they have a longtime bf or gf they were invited also. i didn't want to risk hurting anyone's feelings even though etiquette does say 'and guest' goes on regular invite.

The 'and guest' will go with the wedding invitation.
I sent the STD's with no 'and guest'.

If I had the boyfriend or girlfriend's name I addressed it to: Jane Doe John Smith
I have one friend that I address it to as Jane Doe & guest because I didn't remember her boyfriend's last name and didn't want to address it to Jane Doe & John.

I just wrote it to the actual person since it isn't the formal invite and the bottom of mine said 'Invitation to follow.'

We didn't put 'and guest' on ours. We had a few friends with significant others that have been dating for a while so for them we put both their names on the envelope.
