How did you and FH meet?

This may have been asked before..but how did you and FH meet?

FH and I met when I was a freshman in college over 5 years ago. We were both smokers at the time (we both quit 3 months into our relationship!! ) and FH asked me for a cigarette in front of the library at our school. The rest is history!!!

Believe it or not, we were set up on a blind date........BY OUR MOTHERS!!!!!

I was a senior in HS and Mike was a sophomore in college. In December 1999, my mother sat me down one day and asked me “How would you like to meet a 19-year-old from Nassau (community college)?” My response: “How do YOU know a 19-year-old from Nassau?”

My mother explained that she was referring to one of her co-worker's sons. Now normally I would NEVER have gone through with this, but I figured I’d do it appease mom. I asked her to get me a picture. So she and Mike’s mom exchanged pictures of us, and phone numbers, and a week later, when I was putting up the Christmas tree, he called me for the first time. He asked if I’d like to get together for dinner one night, and I responded with 'Let me check my schedule.' He immediately took that comment the wrong way and made the first of his many sarcastic and inappropriate jokes to me. We set up a date for the following weekend, and agreed to bring friends along to help with the awkwardness.

We met the next Saturday night (December 18, 1999) at a TGI Fridays with friends by our sides. After dinner, we went to a local pool hall. He hated me on our first date, I had a great time. If you ask Mike about our first date, he will tell you that the only time I looked him in the eye was to tell him 'I hope you dance, because I don't date anyone who doesn't dance' (I don't recall this, AT ALL).

Needless to say, I called the next day to thank him for everything, and we continued to see each other every weekend for about the next month. He even came to my father's old restaurant, La Bella Vista, with my family for New Year's Eve that year. About a month later, on January 22, 2000, we became “official.”

my sister was friends with his brother and cousin.. i started hanging out with them.. then he started coming around & the rest is history

my sister actually is now married to his cousin.. he will be my 'br-ousin'-in-law (brother-in-law & cousin-in-law combined) ... where's the nearest trailer park?? haha

we met at a party in college...end of my freshman year and his sophomore year.

its kinda bad but i drunkenly made out with his friend (not a close friend...but he saw it happen haha) that night and then later i was outside and FH and I just started talking for awhile. Nothing happened but talking but when I left he asked my friend (a mutual friend of ours) for my #. He called me the next day to ask if I wanted to hang out...we went to study at the HUB which was like our student union building and instead of studying we just talked for hours....and thats how it all started

We met in college in a class called 'Writing By and About Women'...he took it to 'meet chicks' (as he puts it) and I took it because I was in a real riot grrrrl phase of my life.

I was dating some guy at the time and FH (so funny to refer to him as 'FH' at this point in our lives...if I only knew!) had persued me a little bit, but I made it clear that I was in a relationship at the time. But we exchanged AIM names and kept in touch every once in awhile online. During the semester, he lent me a Cure CD which I never returned...on purpose. I wanted to have a reason to talk to him again, outside of school.

Fast-forward a couple years later. I broke up with that guy and FH happened to be online one night. We chatted...he reminded me that I had the CD and he had bought a new copy, so I told him that I'd have to take him out for a drink to make up for it. So we met up a few nights later, and the rest is history.

kind of long:

A little back story first, my dad used to go to the Riverhead track every Saturday night and hang out with his friends Mickey and Glenn, it was just something he did. We would never go out there with him, this was his thing, my dad passed away in 2001 and since then his friend Mickey would always asked us if we wanted to come out to Riverhead to watch the races and we would always say no.

It was July 3, 2004, my sister and my mom wanted to go the Riverhead Racetrack to watch the races that night and the fireworks so I went with them. We get free admission for the pit area, through Mickey, so we get to walk around the pits and get to hang out where all the drivers have their cars and hang out in between the races. We went to the back of the pit area to hang out with Mickey and Glenn, they were back there because Glenn works on Daryn’s car. Daryn races at Riverhead in one of the divisions. We were hanging out there talking to Daryn and he was kind of funny and just making deaf jokes because he is deaf (which was odd that he was making fun of himself) and we were having a good time. Then we left to go watch the rest of the races and then went home.

A week later, Mickey came over and said that Daryn wanted to take me on a date, which I thought was funny because I’ve had boyfriends in the past, but we’ve never actually went on “dates”, I laughed him off and said no. A couple of weeks later Mickey came back over and said the same thing, again I said no. Now it was a month later and Mickey comes back over and said that Daryn really wants to take me on a date, again I say no, so he says can I at least give him your number so he can text you and talk to you, so I agreed to that.

So we started to text each other and at first his messages was soo hard to understand because he does not spell properly so you really need to get the hang of understanding what he means, so after a month of Mickey harassing me and then two weeks of texting each other I finally agreed to go on a date with Daryn, which really wasn’t that much of a date, he just picked me up and we went walking on the Boardwalk at the beach. When we started to see each other, he was working two jobs plus racing and I was working two jobs and going to grad school and we lived a half hour away from each other, so we would only get to see other on the weekends a hard schedule, but it worked for us.

FH and I were set up on a blind date by mutual friends who were seeing each other. That was December 17th, 1999.

Actually FH and I were both supposed to be set up with different people, but my guy canceled and the guy that was seeing my friend decided I was cooler than the girl he originally had planned for FH (I am, but that's besides the point ).

The four of us went to play pool and then out for pizza. FH was sooo cute and he smelled so freakin' good! Hugo Boss cologne, I still remember.
After that, the other couple (our friends) wanted to get in their own car and go to a popular makeout spot... I'm like noooooooooooooooooooooooo, but I wound up going anyway. I was so nervous though!

FH and I talked for a while and then we started making out... WOW. hehe

We exchanged numbers at the end of the night and he called me the next day and the day after! We were official about a week later on Christmas which is also his birthday.

How we met

One Thursday night in August 2003 Matt went out after work with his friend Anthony. The plan was to pick up Shana and her roommate in Whitestone, hit Bell Blvd for a couple of drinks and make it an early night. When we arrived at Shana's apartment she asked, 'would you mind if my friend Roz came with us? She lives just a couple of minutes away and she's waiting for us.' Matt said 'sure, no problem' and we made our way to pick Roz up. A couple of quick introductions in the car were made, then off we went to Bell Blvd. We got to the Crazy Moose Saloon, settled in by the bar, and began our night. A couple of cocktails and some laughs later, Matt & Roz started to have a conversation all their own. They danced (though briefly), shot the breeze and the time passed so quickly that all of a sudden what was supposed to have been an early night turned out to be a 2:30am, 'We should probably be going, we all have work in the morning' kind of night. So they piled back in the car, Matt dropped everybody off at home and finally called it a night close to 4am. Up for work at 7:30 and out the door by 8am, Matt got a call on his way to work on his broken cell phone from a mysterious number in the 212 area code. Having been plagued by wrong numbers in the past Matt answered his phone screaming 'HELLO?? I CANT HEAR YOU, MY PHONE IS BROKEN AND I'LL CALL YOU BACK' at the top of his lungs. After grabbing a coffee and settling into work, Matt returned the call to the mystery 212 caller and found that it was Roz calling his earlier that morning to say thanks for a good time the night before. The conversation was fairly short, and afterwards Matt had the feeling he may have embarrassed himself earlier that day screaming on the phone. His concerns were invalidated later that day when he received his first text message ever in the car on the way to the Yankee game with some of his co-workers. The message read, 'Have a great time at the game tonight' and it was from Roz. The rest of this weekend was filled with long phone calls & constant text messaging with each other, closing out with an early Sunday dinner at Paddy Magee's and a movie. This weekend was the beginning of what is now a five and a half year relationship for us.

we met on JDate.
he emailed me saying how much he liked my profile, I emailed back cause he was the only one who wrote a personal email and it showed that he took time to read it.
we emailed back and forth for about 2 weeks and I kinda thought that he is a dorky dork, but then he emailed me his updated pic, and his baby blues just got to me.
he asked if we can meet for dinner. on the day of the date I kinda didnt want to go he was a bit annoying me with his indecisiveness on where to go, but I ended up going.
1st think that struck me when I saw is how cute he is
we spent 3.5 hrs just talking and talking and talking. and by the end of the date he walked me to my train stop and I was dying for him to kiss me, and he totally did!!! right on the corner of 34th and 6th - busiest corner. that was the best kiss of my entire life.
and the rest is history..... we became an official couple 5 days later, on my bday

FH's brother is in a band and I went to go see them play a show on LI because I knew the guitarist in the band. When I was leaving the guitarist's GF called me over - I thought to say goodbye - and introduced me to Brian. He seemed nice and I thought he was so cute lol So I left with my best friend and when I got in the car I was like 'I never gave him my number' so I wrote it down on a napkin and my bff brought it in to him. He told me later that he thought that was the cutest thing lol He did the usual guy thing, called me a week later and we made plans to go out. He actually canceled on our first date - he claims he doesn't remember why but I don't believe him. We rescheduled for a week later and the rest is history

I was a junior in high school...FH was a senior in high school (we went to different high schools)

we were both working part time jobs at McDonalds

we didnt like each other, at all. we greatly disliked each other actually.. i worked there for about a year before i quit..

after i quit, i texted him. just to be annoying. to my surprise, we started talking. a lot. then secretly hanging out (i had a boyfriend)

finally, i broke up with my boyfriend..and that was that.

it was my first day of work there, i just moved to brooklyn, and he used the other girl whos worked there forever to get to me

we work together...
we were really good friend for a long time..he used to tell me all his girl drama and i did too... i was a little heavier then (Weight) so i joined the gym and he was my gym trainer/bud....FH was in amazing shape then..... anyway...i didnt think anything of it...he was always just my friend...

one day at good old happy hour...we made out...and it was SO Weird.... we didnt speak for weeks.....then we finally started talking again and he took me otu to eat... that was our first date...and by far one of the best times of my life

we went to the same middle school and hs but didnt meet until our senior year. we clicked right away, became really good friends, went to the same college, and started officially dating the summer after our freshman year. and the rest is history
