How did you and FH meet?

we met at a bar in rockville center. one of his friends was talkin to my friends, then he ended up talkin to me. we talked on the phone very little after that... but a few months later he seemed into me and things were goin pretty good, sooooooo he asked me out, and the rest is history baby

haha okay so i generally do not tell people this story because it is kind of all over the place. so when i was 16 i signed up for myspace when it first started out and had became popular. the typical thing to do then was to add every person within a 5-10 mile radius of your town just because chances are you knew those people or somehow were connected to them ( i live in a pretty small town). anyways, fh was one of the first random people i added just so i had 'myspace friends'..lol. anyways, we started talking casually and then it became like a routine. we literally talked for hours upon hours until like 2-3 am. let me state now that neither of us expected anything to come of this. so after 1-2 months of talking we realized we had a connection so we talked about going out on a date. the thing was though that my parents refused to let me go unless they met fh because i was 16 and they did not want me going out with some strange boy. this news gave fh cold feet (who was 17 at the time) and he canceled our date last minute. i was pretty upset by this but it was not the end of the world because i really had not lost anything at that point. we continued to talk (not as much as before), fh started dating someone else, but we still remained good friends. we had never actually met but ironically we knew mutual people and fh ended up even recognizing me in my town in a parking lot one night. he later im-ed me to confirm this because at the time he was with his girlfriend and i was with my soon to be boyfriend. anyways, months come and go, we still continue chatting online and fh ends up graduating hs (he was a year older than me) and going away to college 9 hours north near canada. his first break home that fall i ended up taking a big risk and deciding i just wanted to meet him (he was having friends come over) so i just kind of invited myself over since he lived in the next town over by my grandma. i actually had a ton of fun and thought fh was really cute in person but of course a few days later he started dating one of those friends . they broke up after a month or two of dating and i guess i talked him through his break up with this girl. during this time fh's parents were getting divorced and his step mom was looking for a new house for them to live in. fh started telling me one day over aim that she ended up making an offer on a house and that it was in my town. he started describing the house (since he had gone to see it) and to my utter shock the house he described was the house nextdoor to mine (he had no idea where i actually lived). the people ended up declining the offer but i always laugh at how fh became the 'almost boy nextdoor.' fh and i really started to feel like fate was trying to tell us something after this, so we talked more and more to the point where we were inseparable even though we were not together (he was away at school and i was in my senior year of hs). fh told me one day while at school that he was coming home may 5th and that the first thing he wanted to do when he got home was to take me out on a date. so sure enough, on may 5th, 2006 fh came home from his freshman year of college and took me out for dinner and to the beach to watch the sunset. we have been together ever since.

so it took us being friends online for over a year and a half for us to finally start dating and 2.5 years later we got engaged :)

okay, sorry this was so long but i rarely ever tell people this story since it is so complex

I was a senior in HS and Mike was a sophomore in college. In December 1999, my mother sat me down one day and asked me “How would you like to meet a 19-year-old from Nassau (community college)?” My response: “How do YOU know a 19-year-old from Nassau?”

My mother explained that she was referring to one of her co-worker's sons. Now normally I would NEVER have gone through with this, but I figured I’d do it appease mom. I asked her to get me a picture. So she and Mike’s mom exchanged pictures of us, and phone numbers, and a week later, when I was putting up the Christmas tree, he called me for the first time. He asked if I’d like to get together for dinner one night, and I responded with 'Let me check my schedule.' He immediately took that comment the wrong way and made the first of his many sarcastic and inappropriate jokes to me. We set up a date for the following weekend, and agreed to bring friends along to help with the awkwardness.

We met the next Saturday night (December 18, 1999) at a TGI Fridays with friends by our sides. After dinner, we went to a local pool hall. He hated me on our first date, I had a great time. If you ask Mike about our first date, he will tell you that the only time I looked him in the eye was to tell him 'I hope you dance, because I don't date anyone who doesn't dance' (I don't recall this, AT ALL).

Needless to say, I called the next day to thank him for everything, and here we are 10 years later and we're getting married in just over 5 months!!!!!!!!!!!!

He saw me a bunch of times at DNA (Club in Astoria).....his best friend was dating/hooking up with my best friend....one night he told her to bring out her girlfriends and he was bringing out his 'boys'.......I meet all his friends (including Gianni, who had been eyeing me a few times prior LOL).....from there, he asked my friend for my Screen name ( ).....talked on the comp and the phone, met a few more times at DNA, then went on our date a few days after that!!!!!!!!!!

thats basically my story!
I moved to virginia from NY 2 1/2 years ago not knowing anyone and only worked 3 days a week.... most of my friends from NY are guys, so i figured it would be a cool way to meet people. i wasnt really expecting anything out of it. And now we're getting married!!!! Crazy how things work out like that!
