my FH just flat out asked lol like literally in the middle of a conversation about something else, he would just come out with it.

Fh asked all his groomsmen when ever he saw them it wasnt a big meeting of the men and then we gave gifts to them at our engagement dinner

yea we didnt do anything formal- fh just asked them when he was hanging out with them.

i think FH called both of his bestmen
and he asked his groomsmen in person one day.

very casual... 'hey, wanna be in the wedding?'
and 'hey, btw, you're my best man'

ONLY ONE OF FOUR HAVE BEEN ASKED!!!

FH is being a lazy procrastinator when it comes to asking groomsmen, so far he's asked his best man WHO LIVES IN THE SAME HOUSE!!!

He just asked him flat out.

But if you want to do something special, I think the food and beer thing works. Have them over for dinner and ask them

FH just asked his friends. To be honest, I don't think guys really care about doing it special. 4 out of my 6 knew they were going to be my BMs. I just asked two of them if they would be in my bridal party.

My FH ask them privately - but we both asked his nephews to be the ring bearers.... and they said no gotta love kids

yup nothing fancy, hes a guy I cant see HIM taking them out and making a thing of it or buying the cards

Neither of us made a big deal out of it. He called his friends that live out of state and asked (just so they were aware). He just told my brother and BILS 'your in the wedding.'

I did the same thing. Just kind of said 'ok so start looking at dresses and let me know what you don't like.' The only I 'asked' was my cousin via e-mail -- she lives in Cali.
