Gosh, I'm starting to get addicted to this site! All of you have been so helpful!!
OK, question. I wanted a cute way to ask my girls to be a part of my Bridal party. I was thinking of inviting them to a brunch (there is a great brunch in the city that costs only 16 dollars per person and has unlimited mimosa's and bloody marys!) and maybe giving them each a little 'will you be my bridesmaid?' card.
Can anyone tell me the special way you asked your BP? AND does anyone know where to find those bridal party cards other than the internet?
Thanks all!!!

Re: How did you ask your Bridal party?
There is a store in Midtown I think called Wedding Things that might have the cards.
And I wrote mine a poem and asked at the end of the poem and got them the book 'The Bridesmaids Guide.' I don't think they were happy though because they thought I expected them to read it and follow it so I advise against that! I read online that it was humerous and made fun of bridezillas, so I thought it was funny. They, however, did not!

Re: How did you ask your Bridal party?
the brunch idea is great! i would love that.
i personally invited them over for dinner and drinks and then gave them cards (i got over the internet though but you could probably make them yourself) with poems inside. Also made them a tshirt which said 'a girl can never have too many dresses in her closet' on the front and 'so what's one more' on the back. pics in my album

Re: How did you ask your Bridal party?
The brunch is a great idea (a little get together with the girls) - I would just be a bit cautious unless you know they would all say yes to you. (Asking them all on the spot & someone might not want to be in your BP can be awkward & embarrassing to all).
I called each of our BP's & asked them personally if they would like to be a part of our wedding & gave them the option to opt out (some may not just want to be a part of it for personal reasons i.e. financial/emotional).
You can try Papyrus or Kate's Paperie - GL!

Yeah, you're right about that. I think I feel pretty confident that all will say yes. (at least I hope they say yes!)
I do think that one of my girlfriend's might be a little upset that she's not my MOH but I am choosing my cousin as Maid and my Sis in Law as Matron. Both of them are family and I am very tight with my gf's and didn't want to 'choose' one over the other.

I gave them each a 'will u be my bridesmaid' card (ordered them off line) along with a rose :) but i gave them each individually....i had 8 girls and it was way to hard to get them all together!

You all are so cute with the ideas. My girls each live in a different state. I just called and asked. I was way too excited to even spend the time being creative.

I had custom scratch-offs made and attached them to everyone's Christmas gifts. Everyone loved them!

Re: How did you ask your Bridal party?
I did a picture frame for each BM with a pic of me and her in it with a poem printed on velium paper and placed it over the picture. At the end of the poem I wrote 'Will you be my bridesmaid?'
For my MOH I made a scrapbook of us through the years and at the end I wrote a poem/letter and asked her to be my MOH.

All my BM live in different states. I wrote them each a poem and sent it in the frame.

Re: How did you ask your Bridal party?
I didnt ask them! Goddam they've known me for years they should know by now! Plus I asked their opinion on what dresses they'd like, so unless they think I'm crazy (which could be true) they have to know that they're in it.

Re: How did you ask your Bridal party?
The only one I really asked was FSIL. I told her that she was so important to FH and it would mean everything if she would stand beside me fo our special day.
The other girls already knew so it was a boring, ok 'i'm officially asking you to be in my bridal party' conversation.
