How did you ask your maid of honor to be your maid of honor?

Do u think it's ok to do it in an e-mail?

I ordered her a card from classybride.com that says, 'will you be my maid of honor'? and I wrote her a thoughtful letter. Don't ask by email. She is supposed to be the most important friend/sis in your life, make it special.

My MOH is my sister. I just called her on the phone. I'm not even sure I asked, I might have just sort of told her. I really don't remember. My BMs though, I asked over the phone since they both live in other states. Basically I called and told them I was getting married and that I couldn't imagine my day without them standing by my side, then asked if they would be a BM.

i made cards for all of my girls that had a little poem and asked them to be MOH, BM or flower girl.

My mothers sister is my MOH she is only 8 years older then me ... She is more like MY SISTER and she knew from when we were younger.. I DIDNT GET TO ASK she told me lol

My MOH is my little sister and she was there the night we got engaged. So I asked her right away while we were jumping up and down and hugging!

I 'proposed' to her (as I did with all of my BMs actually). I bought a large engagement ring paperweight from eBay (they're cheaper than the ones they sell in Fortunoff) and I opened the box and said 'Will you be my Maid of Honor?'

I actually told both of them (My sister and my best friend). The night we got home from Vacation was the first time anyone had seen us since we got engaged. So when they came over with my parents, we were all talking about the wedding and I just said 'Gina will be my maid of honor and Cheryl will be my Matron of honor'
They had the same look I am sure I had when my FH proposed

I called my sister and said, you're going to be my matron of honor right? Then I called my best friend (that I've known longer than my sister has been alive!) and said, 'so you know you're going to be my maid of honor, you have to give a speech'

I wouldn't do an e-mail only because it's impersonal sometimes. They have cute cards that can do the trick!

my MOH is my best freind, we already knew that no one else could fill those shoes, so i basically told her that she was the MOH.... and she was not surprised

I agree with the email thing. Someone once text messaged me that they got engaged and then emailed me the next day to ask me to be in their wedding party and I was a bit insulted (the wedding didn't end up happening). I think this is more of an in person or on the phone event (if you can't see them in person).

I asked my MOH to be in the wedding party over the phone. When she came to NY for Thanksgiving, we went to meet with the florist and the florist had asked if I had a maid of honor so I turned to her and asked her there (It slipped my mind that I hadn't actually asked her to do it since I hadn't seen her since I had gotten engaged until then).

At my e-party in a few weeks I will give them cards asking them to be in the bridal party. I would not want to do it through email.

I will post a pic when I am done with them.

i made cards for each of my girls....my sisters i gave a dozen roses too as well.
my moh is my best friend...her i made a scrapbook of pics of us when we 1st met...all the way till now....w/ poems and friendship sayings all over the place. Funny thing is she did the same for me and we didnt know that eachother were planning it,
