How Did you Choose the BM Dresses?

Ugh, went out for the second time yesterday, and although I found some nice styles, I can't figure out what the deciding factor should be...there are some dresses I love that don't go as well with my dress, or that not everyone would look good in, and there are others that I don't love as much, but can see it will look good on most &/or compliments my dress better....how did you choose?

How about involving the girls in the decision? For me, the factor was color. Hands down, I wanted Celadon and not many BM dresses come in that exact color (a lot come in variances like Kiwi, but I wanted celadon). Then I loved have that color looked on Satin, not chiffon, so I decided on Satin. That left me with a few designers, but one had A LOT of dresses to choose from and that was Bill Levkoff. So I decided to let the girls pick their own styles from that, I was just happy to get the color and fabric, and the girls are estatic to be picking their own gowns.

I went w/ my girls!!! It was really fun and we all picked out dresses from the racks (they made sure I liked them before trying them on). The girls tried them all on and it came down to about 3 that we all loved. We ruled out tea length b/c one of my girls mentioned she didn't feel comfortable in it.

So when we went back a 2nd time, we ended up choosing the one that was the lighter material. We thought satin might be too thick and hot for a June wedding (outdoor ceremony).

I'm so glad I had their input!!!! I suggest going w/ them.

I told them what color I wanted and let them choose the dress. that made it easier for all of us. they're all wearing a different dress, but they're all the exact same color. I think that's going to look awesome. and each one got a dress to flatter her figure

Thanks for the feedback girls, I did go with my two MOHs, and yesterday we brought my mom and another friend. I have 12 girls, so I can't involve them all. Even yesterday with 4 different opinions flying around was tough.

They were elegant, classy, tea-length AND the girls can wear them again. No alterations either.

i brought the biggest girl in my party (my FSIL who just had 2 kids in a row and is still feeling self concious) and I had her and myself (b/c i am a size 4) try on like 4 or 5 dresses. I figured if a dress fit me and her really good, i knew would be ok for the rest of the girls in the party, who are between our sizes. It worked out awesome, b/c the dress we decided on ended up looking amazing on every girl! Even i was shocked it worked out so well :)

I chose the color, and the girls chose the dress in my case.

I thought it was easier for them to choose, and one less thing for me to worry about

i chose the color,
i narrowed down the list, emailed the girls pictures, showed my moh, we agreed... we all went to the store and tried on the 4 and then narrowed it down to 2 and then i chose the final dress, cause basically they forced me to- they said YOUR wedding YOU choose, they loved them both so i guess it didnt seem to matter to them... and that was that, basically painless and simple!

I went with the bridal party. They tried on a ton of gowns. We all fell inlove with the same one. We went out two weeks later looked again and they all still wanted that original dress.
That was the only thing that went that smooth.

I'm choosing the color, and I think we're going with the Alfred Angelo line of mix-and-match dresses, that way everyone's comfortable with what looks good on them. My only stipulations are floor length and color. They can pick any style they want.
