HOW DID YOU DEAL WITH GUEST WANTING TO INVITE CHILDREN

MY INVITATIONS WENT OUT LAST WEEK, AND I KEEP GETTING CALLS FROM MY GUEST SAYING THAT THEY WANT TO INVITE CHILDREN....

ANY SUGGESTIONS?

THANKS,
Q

I would just simply tell them that you are having an '18 and older' or '21 and older' wedding. My DF and I are doing the same thing....we may offer a babysitter at my home for them, but are not sure yet.

Say no.

Seriously. Just be firm. 'I'm sorry, we're not having any children at the wedding, and we cannot add any on.'

Some people are so rude, it amazes me!! I hope they understand and don't give you any grief. My goodness, if you wanted their kids there, you would have invited them!

I think you should just say 'MY DAY, MY WAY' - and promptly hang up on them. That should solve the problem hahahaha

I'm with you...I love kids, but no kids at our wedding also. I can just imagine a child with sticky fingers trying to give me a hug...of course with good intentions...and leaving hand prints on my bum!!

we were originally not going to have kids but then realized my cousins and 1 aunt might not come otherwise because the person who watches all their kids is my othecousin hwo is comming to the wedding so since it is only 6 kids we are gonna deal

We are telling everyone by word of mouth NO KIDS.
We are lucky b/c FH's sister has three and when we asked about them as flower girl ring bearers, she was like, no- I want a night out for myself and I don't want to chase after my kids at your wedding.
Whenever some one asks, we plan to refer them to her.

I know someone who said no kids and the parents showed up with the kids anyway!!

With my wedding, since my sis and I are the youngest on both sides, just about everyone has kids. I started the 'no kid' mantra the same day we got engaged. And for the families from out of town... we got someone to watch the kids during the reception at mom's house.

originally i wasnt going to have kids, then i realized there were some children in the family i wanted in my BP. So there are select kids invited, My invites are not going out for a few months still so i havent dealt with this yet, but quite frankly I cant afford to pay $80 a head 'cause someone wants to bring their kids. But thats just my own issue.

You invited who you invited for a reason, and you left those others out for a reason as well. It's your wedding, and it should be the way you want and hold to that

I went to a wedding where kids weren't invited... some people brought their kids and their kids ate out of their parents' plate. The kids didn't need seats because they were running around everywhere. Thank god the bride didn't flip out. Anyway she didn't pay for extra plates or seats.

I am writing on my invites 'Adult gathering only'. Simply say no! I hate when people do that.

well you know what....

TOOOOO BAD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

These invites go out months in advance for many reasons......this gives ppl plenty of time to call susie down the street to babysit for 5 bucks an hour..

Stop feeling bad or sorry about your decision and start feeling sorry that brides have to put up with this nonsense from relatives. It is unreal that ppl wouldnt go bc of this....

This isnt Chucky Cheese. and by no means are you obligated to invite kids.

Ive heard of brides telling ppl 'my contract with my hall only allows for 18 and over or 21 and over.
