I am having a little trouble picking my bridesmaids dress colors and sticking with it. Should you make your decision in conjunction with the type of flowers you want? I know I would like monochromatic rose bouquets. Our wedding is in October and I am toying with navy, platinum (but not light silver, more of a blue-toned silver, if that makes sense). I also like sage green...the list goes on.

I was undecided until I found a dress that I really liked. Then, I just picked from the colors it came in and that became the colors of my wedding.

I decided on black bridesmaid dresses because I want my girls to be able to wear them again. We all have those dresses in the back of our closets that are too bridesmaid looking to wear again. I definitely think the time of year and the flowers that you are interested in should help you decide on the color. Platinum will look very pretty in the fall, plus it goes with many color flowers.

I am getting married in May so I wanted a spring like color so I chose Lilac. John & I also like purple alot so that was another deciding factor

JennLC- Thanks. I would have liked black dresses but it is a daytime weddng and I was not sure if that was appropriate. I saw that you are getting married at East Wind. I went to a wedding there last weekend. Everything was wonderful..the service, the food (cocktail hour food was a great variety!)(I had the stuffed sole for dinner), the atmosphere. Wasn't crazy about the DJ. The spa/hotel looks amazing too!!

Same as Taraalissa - I picked out a dress that I liked and looked good on everyone then looked at the color swatches. Now I am basing all of my colors around that.

I knew i wanted some kind of lavendar shade. I ended up getting a color that was called Blue Pastel. It is a blue, purple, silver color. If you know what sort of colors you are looking for, I would stick very closely to those and look at your options and decide from there.

Being tha my wedding is in the fall, i decided first to go with a Hunter green. I really love that color. but from the concensous the girls throught it was too dark, so we went for a lighter green. A celedon.
My flowers are going to be roses, so I'm having an array of colors.

I just saw BM dresses in claret and loved the color and decided that was THE COLOR. Its between a red and a wine color.I just loved the color and it was a very fall color also.

I picked champagne because #1) It pretty much looks good on everyone and #2)I'm getting married late summer/early fall and thought that was a good choice at that time.

Hi I really didnt do a color scheme. My flowers are beiges and light greens and the girls are in sort of a beigey gold, chamapgne really.
Its really pretty and the guys are wearing traditional tuxes no color for them.
Its hard to match colors so I went neutral. Its easier for me.
