How did you get to RH/Limo gripe

How did you get to RH/Limo gripe

Just curious, I'm really worried about squishing myself into the car in the WG.

I thought a limo might be a nice way to get the BM's there since we'll be getting up so early to take some pictures at my parents house. I didn't think it would cost so much, after all i'm only going 7 miles from my parents to the RH. I only needed something for a less than 20 minute ride and I can't justify spending almost $150-200 for that. My parents won't pay for it since they think its unecessary and i'd rather spend money on something else.

i spoke to one LIW vendor and laughed as soon as he told me, i was like you've gotta be kidding me?!?! First he was like well, you'll be spending thousands on flowers which will die the next day. Why not spend money on this. First off that's none of his business, he doesn't know how much i'm spending on anything. Secondly, IMO flowers are more important and third, just plain rude!!!! Then he say's to me 'Well you wouldn't want your pretty WHITE dress to get dirty' How condescending is that?

Just curious, has anyone ever called limo companies and not said anything about needing a ride to your wedding? I know a lot of the time you use the word wedding and places jack up the price!

Any suggestions???

You are right. Got quoted from the same place two different prices wedding and not a wedding. Same date and time. What a racket!!! Most are not like that though. I tryed a couple of places. I went with a rolls royce for my mom, grandma and I but it is taking us to the church and reception. It was cheaper to get a luxury car than a whole limo!!!

don't forget that although it is 7 miles from your house, they still have to drive to your house from where they are, drive you there and then drive back...they charge by the hour not by miles or anything like that. Oh yeah and lets not forget gas it costs them to go back and forth...It's not THAT bad of a price. I mean check out other places to see what they'll do for you but also think about it in a business sense. That hour they give it to you they can get someone else to rent a limo for that price.

Maybe try a different type of limo, that might bring the cost down

the only thing i can say is we looked into 3 limo companies, and serenity in patchogue was the ONLY one that really worked to get our price down....they figured out ways (other than our ideas) to save us money and still have everything work out.....you could make an appt. and talk with the woman that handles everything. i thought they were great and we've since used them for other things :) good luck!

That part he did say to me, the w/the price of gas and everything.....I completely understand that. This guy was just plain rude to me which was my problem.

I'm not saying its a bad price, just more than i'd want to spend. I don't know anything about limo's What kind are there that would be less expensive?

i too am having a hard time parting my money when it comes to limos. i'm really close to asking a friend who owns a hummer to drive me. but i also need a bunch of rides for my wedding party and family to the park for pre-ceremony pics and then to the reception hall where thanfully is also where we're having our ceremony. i guess you just either have to suck it up or ask a friend with a big car to drive you around. another idea, maybe get a town car for small groups of people rather than a limo.

I don't know where your located but you can try Jennie's Limos in Port Jeff, they are a smaller company and have decent prices. Like I said they are not a big company that advertises on here or anything so there prices might be a little cheaper..Hope this helps!!!

Have you considered getting ready at the reception hall? That is what we are probably going to do. (I mean just putting my dress on in the bridal suite when I get there)

I considered it but I really wanted to take some pictures at my parents house. Plus, the photographer didn't think we'd have enough time, even with an extra hour at the RH. We want to try and enjoy the day as much as possible and get most of the BP shots done early.

As someone else said, either i'll 'suck it up' and go in my parents car or figure something else out.

I'll figure something out.
