How did you know....

You will JUST KNOW. I cried when I found mine. Tried on about 20 different dresses. Everyone always told me, you will just know and I didnt believe them, UNTIL I had it on me. Keep looking - you will find it and you WILL KNOW. Good Luck.

I didn't know

I wouldn't worry if you don't find 'the one.' I fell in love with 2 dresses. They're both so different and so beautiful. I make a decision this weekend!

I didn't find any dress that I loved so I am getting mine made. It is a combination of several different dresses.

How did you know....

First, I loved how it felt, loved how it bustled. Try on a few different styles, you may be surprised at what looks best on you. Second, I had my best friend with me to offer her honest opinion. I knew she wouldn`t just agree with me but give me helpful feedback. Don`t go with too many people in tow or you will get confused. Third, the price was right. I did not want to pay over $1000 and my dress was $890. Hope this helps.

How did you know....

I tried on at least 15 dresses, but I kept trying on ones that looked good in magazines or on the rack, but not on me. I am so grateful that I had my sister there, and got lucky with a very honest, talented salesperson. Otherwise, I would have never known what was right for me. But, when I found 'the one', even when I tried on others just to make sure, I couldn`t help but be bored and I lost excitement trying others on, b/c I already knew that I found my dress!

How did you know....

I`ve been looking for a dress for over 2 months, and still haven`t found `the one`. I`ve probably tried on more than 30 dresses so far. What I`ve learned so far...I agree the salesperson makes a big difference. Try to get a recommendation from this board of who to make your appointments with. And I definitely agree, the more people you bring with you, the more confusing it gets. When I first started looking, I wanted everyone to be there. But now that time is an issue, I`ve cut down to just my mom. I`ve been waiting for `the one` dress to jump out at me, but at this point, I don`t think it`s going to happen, and I`m running out of time. Maybe there isn`t always `the one` dress for everyone...? Good luck

How did you know....

When I out my dress on I just knew it was the one. I tried on others and just felt like they were pretty. Then I tried on mine and I fell in love. I knew it was the one for me. My mom told me to try on others just in case I liked something better so I tried on a few more but I already knew which on I wanted.

jeng

I feel the same way as you (it feels good that I am not the only one feeling that way). I have been looking for the past month..big shops and small and have found many I liked (2 in particular) but none that make me say it is the one...I am starting to believe I am just not that type of person who finds that one perfect dress. Experienced sales people help...but not too much for me...they helped me narrow which style looks good on me. I typically only go with my mom but sometimes bring my matron on honor...both which are very honest which is helpful. I have two I like alot..one more traditional then the other. I like them both but I find con's along with the pro's of both.... I guess I will keep shopping...I am actually getting bored of it! Thanks for all your help.

1st one I saw, 2nd one I tried......

1st & only one I tried

There was just no question in my mind, and my sister-in-law (MOH) was there with me .. she was the one who insisted I try something on .. I was just going to order something from a picture, then decide after it came in. The lady working in the bridal shop picked out two dresses she thought fit what I was looking for, and the first one I put on was THE one. I hesitated in showing my enthusiasm, not wanting my sister-in-law to just agree because she thought she should, and she started saying exactly what I was thinking .. how beautiful the dress was, etc. It was truly a great feeling I won`t forget, and one I hope everyone feels when they find their dress.

How did you know.... bridetobe

How is your dress search going? I was home (in LI) this past weekend, and bought a dress. It was a dress I had tried on the last time I was home. I wasn`t sure then, but I had been kind of thinking about it, and went back there to try it again. After I put it on I spent some time trying headpieces and veils, which gave me more time to decide about the dress while I had it on. I had been hoping to `just know` like so many brides, but I guess it doesn`t happen like that for everyone. I hope you're having some luck....?? Jen
