I knew when my parents kept getting sick and going to the hospital and he was always trying to be supportive and caring (we were just friends then). It was cemented when we had our first kiss. He's the kind of guy I've always dreamed of and prayed for.

Re: How did you know he was the one?
It was love at first sight. This never happened to me before. Plus, we began talking more about wedding and family.

I knew he was the one the first night I met him, we both fell completely in love with each other. I was engaged when I met him & decided the next day to end it with my fiance & move to NY (I moved to NY from Florida 5 months after we met to be with him). Complete whirlwind romance

Re: How did you know he was the one?
he walked in handed me a beer since it was a party i was having and i looked up and said man i feel like know you. I left my bf sitting on my couch and took (fh) by the hand and talked to him the entire night. My bf at the time left pissed off that i ditched him and in two weeks i broke up with the bf and started dating fh. We had a rough start but after a mini vaca from each other midway through our five year relationship we really realized we love each other.

Re: How did you know he was the one?
Well unlike most people who have posted, I had NO idea he was the one for about a year. Sure he was handsome, smart and just a great guy, but Id been in crappy *** relationships forever and I was wary. But finally I was sure because he met three important criteria
1. My father and my aunt liked him and they dont like many people-my aunt especially. Yet they LOOOOVE Pete. More than me!
2. This is gross but.... He can pee in front of me. Yes I know lol ewww eww and more eww but honestly, I grew up in a very non-formal household. We had one bathroom and my cousins and aunt were always over so there was usually at least 7 people in our house. If one had to shower in the morning, we just clsoed the shower curtain and left the door open so otherscould come in and pee or brush their teeth then leave again. NONE of my exes were able to pee in front of me or vice versa. One, (teh one before the FH) even made me PEE IN A POT!!!!! (YESSS SOOOO GROSS I KNOW!!!) because he was in the shower and took grotesquely long ones (45 min average) AND he said it 'threw him off' (*** does that mean?!!!!) to be in the shower while I peed! So instead of crippling myself because I couldnt take it anymore, I peed in a big pot. Thats when I knew he WASN'T the one lol.
Fh doesn't give a rats butt. I can be in the shower or standing right there and doesnt affect him. He even talks to me. LOL weird I know but that comfort level with one another was important to me because it means we can handle any awkward situation that arises.
3. He drove 1 1/2 out of his way IN NYC RUSH HOUR traffic, to bring me the suit I needed to wear to an interview because I got called at the last minute and had left it at the cleaners by his place. Then he went home to gran his stuff so he could head to work.
He just sticks by me-always has. And all our friends agree we are 'the one' for one another.

Re: How did you know he was the one?
peeing in front of each other is important! we do everything in front of each other. it's pretty funny and comfortable at the same time. we just came back from paris this week and our hotel room was SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO tiny. the bathroom was super small so we couldnt close the door if one person was in it. we were so thankful that we were used to going number 1 and 2 in front of each other long before the trip.

Re: How did you know he was the one?
i didnt know right away, but the little things stood out. He came over my house when i was sick to take care of me. he would leave work a little early some days to come pick me up from my job, and the comfort factor you girls were talking about is big with us too. we've seen each other at our best and worst and we're still together as happy as can be.
sorry that was a little mushy

Re: How did you know he was the one?
I knew my FH was the one cause I couldn't see myself with anyone else but him and because I couldn't see my life with out him. I also knew because he was the type of guy I always dreamed of marrying and spending the rest of my life with. He is my best friend and my soul mate.

Re: How did you know he was the one?
My DH and I didn't think about marriage or even talk about it for over 3 years. We met in college and just assumed that we would break up after we graduated because we wanted very different dreams.
After college he went back to Jersey and I came back to LI. We talked about breaking up and both agreed that since it still worked, we would give it a shot. 6 months later both of our dreams had changed significantly in order to stay together. Not long after that we were engaged, He moved to LI and started looking for a job while I completed my masters. Long Story short, I dont know when I first knew he was the one for me, I guess it was a feeling that just came over time.

I knew right away....couldn't stop thinking about him. We met when we were so young (over 15 years ago when we were 16) and were both involved at the time. We were friends and would talk all the time and eventually we came together and stayed together. We have different backgrounds and we both thought that maybe we would be a making a mistake getting together, but love prevails!!! So cheesy...I know!

Re: How did you know he was the one?
Ok I know this sounds odd and corny and like BS but...
I knew he was my FH from the first time we met... Our first kiss only confirmed those feelings even more... I felt something for him that I never felt for anyone before... Before I met FH, I didn't really believe that true love really existed (too many f#cked up relationships made me a non-believer)... How sad! lol... FH changed all that... Now I can't wait to be his wife...
Sorry for the corny-ness lol

Re: How did you know he was the one?
i knew pretty much right from the start. he immediately made me happier than i ever knew i could be and i was head over heels in love with him, pretty much a week after we started dating (even though at that time, we said we were just friends with benefits - everyone knew we were full of siht) it's sounds lame and cliche, but it's true.
