How did you know your gown was THE ONE?

Original post by franksbride

For me, it was when my sister and mother started crying when they saw me walk out in it.

I think I was in the store with the dress on for 30 mins before I took it off...I didn't want to.

I'll never forget that day...

Kathleen...that's awesome that the salon did that for you!!!

JimmysBride...do you mean you may have tried one on that you think you may love...are you just not sure about it????

Would you belive it was a small salon across the stress from Kleinfeld's called Sposabella? I was so frustrated that day after finding nothing and I just went in to look at some headpieces!!! Goes to show that you never know where you are going to find the one!!!

It was the only dress that my mom and I agreed on. (my mom and I don't agree on much) I also didn't want to take it off. When I continued shopping around I kept going back to 'the one'

Kathleen...that's so funny...I know that store well. I must have been in there for hours one night just looking at headpieces and jewelry...I tried it all on...veils too!!!! They were so nice to me...and I didn't buy a thing! I felt bad...

My mom started crying (after about 50 dresses) and I got teary eyed. Then I tried it on like 6 times in between other dresses- we kept going back to it!!

I didn't want to take it off.. I was so comfortable in it, and it was everything I've ever envisioned.. i am overweight so naturally i was not even trying on the gowns I liked, then the woman talked me into and thank god I did, because I LOVE IT!!!!!!!!! I can't wait to wear it.. it is true, you just know..

the first time i went out i thought i found the one..

when i went back to try on a similar style, i tried on a couple of new ones... there was one i loved... and felt would have been the one if my hips were smaller..
then i a couple dresses later, i found the one.. the one that made me feel the slimmest, and felt princessy....

Susan...hey...I don't think I saw a pic of your dress yet...right?? Didn't we have that promise...

Jen - I never took a picture of myself in it and they don't have it on their website... it's a Valentina's so I can't find it anywhere

After about 5 stores, including Kleinfeld's and Lestan's, I tried on three dresses in this store, 3 was the limit, and my mom cried when she saw me in it. It was the first time it happened for either of us. I will admit to you guys that I probably could have gone to another few stores but, put a deposit on it anyway. Well, it just came in around a week ago; I went to visit it and can't be happier with my decision, it is realy pretty!

Edited for typos!

I fainted when I tried it on and the store owners had to dial 911.

I'm just being silly! I didn't really faint.

Actually I spotted it on the internet and I couldn't stop looking at it, I felt sick because I had already ordered a gown, but I couldn't get this dress out of my head. It had the exact look I initially wanted but didn't end up getting. So I called Reem Acra to find out what store in the area carried the sample. I went there, I tried it on and I DID NOT WANT TO TAKE IT OFF!!!! It was even better in person. I knew that was going to be the dress I walked down the aisle in, not a shred of doubt whatsoever. It just felt like me!

I knew when I came out in it and my parents gasped. Then they started crying. It just felt like me. I kept putting it back on after everyone I tried on. I love it!

Mine was the last one that I tried on. All the other dresses, I thought 'okay, they're nice, what else have you got?' The last dress that I tried on, I didn't want to take off. AS soon as I tried it on, I knew that it was the one.

My mother looked at me, told me I looked like a Princess and that the dress was the one before I even took a look at myself. After looking at myself, I felt like royalty. My dress was a pretty penny and we had no intentions of spending that much money but my mother said 'I'm buying it ~ It's the one and your going to have it ~forget the price.'

My mother is SO picky and HATES everything she sees all of the time. For her to react the way she did and for me to feel the way I did, I knew it was absolutely the one and we needn't look any further.
