How did you know your gown was THE ONE?

How did you know your gown was THE ONE?

For me, it was when my sister and mother started crying when they saw me walk out in it.

I think I was in the store with the dress on for 30 mins before I took it off...I didn't want to.

I'll never forget that day...

Mine was the third one I put on - after that nothing looked as good.

Then I went back with a girlfriend and tried on more dresses and again - nothing looked as good.

Went with mom to order it and as she was putting the deposit down I was in the shop alone with the dress and I started to cry - I knew it was the right decision :)

I too will never forget that day!!!!

I saw mine on the knot before I was even engaged! I just loves how it looked, very different from any other thing that I looked at. I could not get it out of my head. When I tried it on, I loved the sleeves and the fabric on my skin it felt so mice!. I put a viel on at the store and I saw my mom get all teary and that was it!

Mine was the first dress I tried on and I fell in love. My sister started crying but my mom kept saying try on more just so you're sure. While I was in the dressing room trying on the other dresses my mom said people kept coming up to her saying,' She is going to buy the first one right!!!'. Yup! I bought the first one!

I knew when I tryed it on, because it was the most emotional I have ever gotten when trying on a dress!! I got all weepy!! Also, it was over my price range, when I told the lady she went downstairs to talk to the owner, all of a sudden they lowered the price for me!! I thought that was such a wonderful gesture because the dress is worth every penny and they knew how I felt about it!! I knew that was a sign!!

I know exactly how you feel! The same thing happened to me until I found 'the one'..

First, I went to Lestan's in Brooklyn and didn't have such a good experience there and did not find anything I liked anyway. Second, I went to Valentina's in Brooklyn and tried on a whole bunch of dresses... I cried when I put one of them on but said to myself... this can't be it.. and it was a little more money than I wanted to spend on 1 day. So then I went to Kleinfeld's... narrowed it down to 1 dress but still wasn't sure if this was 'the one'... (after spending an hour and a half in there)... so I scheduled another appointment to go back to Kleinfeld's.. wound up getting a different saleslady because mine called in sick that day... I wound up trying on a different dress that I liked but still... I thought that I should think about it and go back (I drove myself crazy).. Well, the 3rd time I went back to Kleinfeld's... this time I went with my sister and it turns out that the way this dress needed to be altered at the hem, it would take away some of the beading from the bottom of the dress! So I started trying on even more dresses!! The saleslady wound up getting annoyed with me and I heard her pass a comment about me to another saleslady... well, that's when I decided that I would leave.. I went back to Valentina's and tried on the dress that made me cry... and even though it was more money... I knew that none of the other dresses compared... So don't give up Jimmysbride... I know exactly how you feel and what you are going through! Many to you!

Mine was the first one I tried on and I kept on going back to it.

Jimmysbride, good luck on finding a gown. Perhaps it isn't that you didn't find the gown, just that the gown didn't find you yet .

Mine was the first one I tried on and I just knew it was the one. I can't describe it exactly. You just KNOW!

Yeah, kind of. Actually, it's the first gown I ever liked (ok, loved). It was the first gown I tore out of a magazine when we first got engaged. I finally got to try it on last weekend and I loved it even more than I thought I would but it was just too much money But I might just go for it.... there were no tears because I didn't let myself get emotional over it since I saw the price tag before I even put it on (big mistake, I think)...

Re: How did you know your gown was THE ONE?

The store where I am getting my gown from was the third store I went too (I had gone to 4 stores) It was the last dress I tried on. Everyone that was with me saw me walking out and started crying. They all said that's it. That is the dress. I was so wishy washy. I was to a point that I was just so sick of trying on dresses and I knew I had another store afterwards to go to. But everyone was in tears.

I went to the 4th store, walked in and walked out. I didnt like one dress in the store.

The next day all I thought about was that dress that everyone cried over. The whole day I kept calling everyone and emailing everyone asking them what made them cry over the dress. For the rest of the week that dress was in my head.

I made an appointment to go back to the store with just my mom. I tried on the gown, looked at myself in the mirror and I was blown away at how beautiful I looked. I felt like I was Cinderella getting ready for the ball.

I just stared at myself. People were talking to me and I was in my own world of just me and my gown. I stepped down from that platform and started waving to ppl, hugging people, blowing kisses, practicing tossing my bo-k, sitting, dancing, you name it I was doing it.

We didnt leave a deposit at that time because I wanted to give it some time. About a month went by and I went back and I put the gown on and did not want to take it off. I asked the girl if I can leave a deposit and keep the sample. I had the same feeling as I had a month prior and thensome.

I did not want to take the dress off. I never thought I would love a dress so much as I do mine.
