How did you (or How Are You) ordering the BM dresses?
So... I have 9 girls. 4 live on LI. 5 live out of state.
Wondering how to make this BM dress thing happen.

I have 8 girls I am going ot go with my MOH and 2 BM's and we are going to pick 2 or 3 dresses and then I will take a vote and see which dress they all like and then have them go to and order it I have 2 that live out of town I will see if the dress that we pick they can order in a place by them

Ok I have 7 girls and not one lives on LI!!!
2 are in NYC 2 are in Westchester 1 is in the Bronx 1 is in FL 1 is in Boston (my sis)
I went with 4 of them my first time dress shopping and we chose 2 or 3 that we loved! Then I went w/ the other 3 girls about a month later and they also loved those dresses, but ultimately decided on 1. The other girls agreed and loved it and now we are slowely ordering them.
So far my 2 NYC bm's have put their orders in. In 2 weeks my 2 westchester bm's are coming down to order and my sis is coming down this weekend! My FL bm is going to call in her measurements and send in the money.
It's a pain but as long as it gets done w/in the next few months we're okay!

I have 5 - but my issue is less location and more pregnancy! Yes, one of my BM will be giving birth 2 weeks before our wedding.
If you order them all together and have them shipped to the same address, you get free shipping and no tax.

I have 5 people in my BP and to get them all together on the same day is impossible. I got 2 of them to go with me at the beginning of the summer and they each picked out their dresses (both Bill Levkoff). While we were in the salon, we called one of the others and she surfed the BL website and chose something else. I brought her back to look at it and she liked it. The remaining two BM's are my brothers daughters who were in camp this summer and won't be able to shop until Sept 17. Soooooooo, after Labor Day, the first three ladies are going back to get measured and leave deposits (probably on three different days) and on the 17th, the remaining ladies will do the same. All of the orders will be sent in at the same time to avoid issues with dyelots. I would prefer they not go in on their own.

Went with my MOH, we found a dress, showed the pic to everyone else (7 of them), they loved it. A group of us went one Saturday and they got measured and ordered, 5 of us, then the last three were on their own. Two of them went to the salon, and the last one called in her measurements over the phone.

Went with MOH and one of the BM's to pick the dress out, emailed it to the girls, they approved. 5 of us went together on a Saturday and placed ano rder, and 1 of them one on her own to get measured and paid b/c she couldn't make it there.

I'm going to attempt to go with all of them, have them measured and order all at the same time. We'll see if that actually happens though since we're all on different schedules and in different states! Plan B is to go with them all individually, have them select a dress, be measured, and then I'll order them all at the same time after everyone selects a dress. I'm planning on having them all wear same designer, fabric and color but different styles.

Oh and they all get 10% off from Lillette's thats why they are all ordering from there.

All I can say is that it is really important to put all the orders in at the same time. I actually had that 'dyelot' issue where when I was a BM for someone, my dress was cut from a different dyelot than the others and it looked distinctively different. It had to be re-ordered and rushed. Be careful ladies.

yes, i definitely want them to all be 'ordered' together. but what i'm talking about is actually going to get measured.
i just have so many girls and i don't want to insult them by saying 'this is the dress i want...come with me on this day or call in your measurements'....

i got that same 10% off at Lilette's but Gownfind can get it soooo much cheaper so that's where i want to go!

sounds similar to what i think i'll do.
my MOH has already tried on the dress i love. i'm thinking of picking a day for them to try it on at a shop, then go to gownfind and have whomever can come measured and ordered.
otherwise, they can call in the measurements.

I would try emailing them with a picture of what you like and unless anyone of them is adamantly opposed to the dress, then I would try getting as many together as you can and have the rest go on their own. You can only do so much with all of your other planning.
I am trying to round up my girls too and there are only three adults. It isnt easy because one is a working mom. One is a music manager and her band is touring overseas in a couple of weeks and the other is on vacation with her family in Florida or something. I try to tell them that the longer they wait, the more they pay if it has to be rushed and they are like 'blah blah blah'.

i went with 2 to a bridal shop and decided on a dress then got a quote from gownfind. much cheaper!!! so i will be ordering from phyllis at gownfind

My MOH & I picked out the BM dresses on my wedding dress qwest! I ended up going back with 3 of them & then went back the following day with my MOH. My SIL who is out of state went to a bridal salon where she lived & got measured & then called them into the store we ordered them from

I have 7 all together. I originally went shopping with my cousin and we found a dress I liked. I then had my sister (MOH) try it on to make sure she liked it. Then I just told everyone else where it was and they went on their own to order it. I went with a couple of them if I could but not with all.
