How Did you pick out/order your FG dresses? WITH FOLLUP Q in OP

Did you take the girl(s) with you to the store to pick the dress out or did you just order the dress without them trying it on?

I found this dress and I really like it (one if the FGs likes it too, haven't asked the other one):

The dress would be platinum (like a silver-grey) and the bow/sash would be navy.

Do I ask my FGs' mothers their size/measurements and just order? Must I take them shopping? One lives in PA and it would be slightly annoying.

FOLLOWUP QUESTION:
Did you pay for the dress or did FG's parents?

my sister helped pick them out and came with me to order them. She also had to leave the deposit!

I knew which one I wanted....then I took flower girl with me to try on just make sure it looked nice on!! HTH

I asked the mother what her measurements were and how quickly she is growing. MY FG is 10 and I got her a size 12. I ordered mine online.

I let my FG pick out her dress. We went to David's Bridal and ordered it there. This is her dress:

my moh will have a floral sash...

FG will have a clover sash

my freakin bro has 6 kids so i knew he couldnt pay for shiiit!!! i went on ebay and found a really cheap cute dress. i asked him her size and ordered it myself. it was a little big so it needed to be altered a bit. then on i went on etsy to have a sash and flower made. all that i spent less than $60. not to bad

i was at the store with my fg and her mom, her other daughters are my jr bms so her mom was really the one that picked it out and i loved it also, my fg didnt try it on, she looks so cute in everything.... fg's mom paid i offered too but she was extremely adamant

My mom actually paid for it..... because she paid for my sisters dresses and my jr bm and mine... she did it for all of our weddings... if my FG wasnt my niece their parents would have paid for it...

Well...it depends on if you want to buy them or not. I've seen it both ways, where either the bride pays or the mothers of the FGs.

If you want to pay for it, then just get their sizes/measurements and order. They shouldn't have a say if you're buying.

If the moms are paying, maybe just run it by them but I can't see how they would have an opinion. It's an adorable dress!

I just ordered the dress online and took it to my FG's house for her to try on. If it didn't fit I was just going to return it and look for another dress.

I bought mine off of ebay (pics in album). I have 2 FG's. For one of them, I had her mom measure her and then I placed the order and she gave me the $$$. For the second FG, we guess-timated based off of the first dress and ordered hers. I paid for hers because her parents are SUPER broke and I really wanted her in our wedding. She's our god daughter.
