Re: how did you pick your date???
our date is not set in stone yet but hopefully by saturday we can confirm the date...I def want a summer wedding because my FH has a busy season from february til May and he usually travels at his job and of course I will be teaching and June will be the end of that so it will fall perfectly...June is a little pricey but we can't help it

Re: how did you pick your date???
we were very strategic (err, I was very strategic lol)
We both had agreed on a winter wedding, but December is full of birthdays (literally, the 15th, 16th, 17th, 18th, 19th, 21st) and Christmas and Hanukkah, and February is to close to Valentines and expensive for flowers, so that left January.
My entire family is from Florida, so if we wanted them to be able to join us, it had to be a weekend where it wouldn't be TOO inconvenient for travel, so we chose the Sunday of Martin Luther King Weekend, January 17, so people could travel in on the 16 and out on the 18 and most won't have to miss work or school

Re: how did you pick your date???
It actually started off as a joke. I was tired of everyone asking me so I would just give them the 10-10-10 thing. But, it grew on me. I always knew I wanted October and that is Sunday of Columbus Day weekend. So, 10-10-10 it is.

Re: how did you pick your date???
it was one of the only saturdays in may still available at my hall. Almost all the weekends are booked up for the summer months at my hall for 2010 already. I didnt want to get married during memorial weekend but I didnt have much choice

Re: how did you pick your date???
I picked the date (he had no choice in the matter lol) bc it is the same day my parents got married 10/10...they got married the 10th on a sunday and that is when i am getting married... It ironically worked out to be 10/10/10...which makes me feel better about FH remembering our anniversary, now he has no excuse to forget!!!

Re: how did you pick your date???
Although FH is a teacher, the summer prices were too high. We both figured we'd honeymoon in the summer, but get married earlier. We didn't want to get married on a weekend and return to work on Monday, so we choose the weekend before president's week. Although Sunday night is more expensive than Saturday night because it's Valentine's Day, we figured it would be easier for guests who were traveling. We didn't want people to have to take off of work on Friday.

Re: how did you pick your date???
We wanted May 9, 2009 (9 is a special number for us)- but my cousin is making communion- so that was out. Then I wanted December because we got engaged for Christmas- but when we were at a hall- I noticed that Jan 9 fell on a Saturday- and we liked the idea of a winter wonderland wedding...and it was booked!

Re: how did you pick your date???
originally we wanted the 1st of a month (that's when we started dating) but couldn't get a Friday night with that. I knew I wanted warmer weather and it outside BUT did not want it near anyone's bday or anniversary so i went with June.
The 11th was supposed to be the original date (playing with #'s..the 1 is in there...1+1=2 which is my lucky # lol) but wound up with June 10 (Thursday night) b/c I couldn't meet the minimum at Flowerfield in no possible way. But same as Goldie, bring on the freakin 4 day weekend

Re: how did you pick your date???
we originally wanted May and were actually booked for May but then I saw pics and the flowers werent in FULL FULL bloom so we decided July would be good. I didnt want July 4th week so we had either july 17 or 24 because 31 is too close to FH birthday. We couldnt decide so we asked the Swan Club which sounded better and everyone said 17th so thats why we picked it.
