How did you pick your flowers?
I'm so indecisive! I need to pick flowers for my bouquet and reception centerpieces. I'm having a daytime wedding and my BMs hopefully will be wearing lilac dresses. How did you select your bouquet and centerpieces?

I brought a swatch to the florist and went through a bazillion pictures there and on the web and in magazines.
hey look at the flower thread on here. that will give you some ideas
I agree with Wacky, that is hpw I found my ideas
I basically started with a swatch of the BM dress and then went with what was in season at the time. I'm having a night wedding this January 31st so basically I went w/ Roses and Lilies which are always in season. My BMs are wearing Watters & Watters. I saw a picture of a cranberry dress in one of their brochures w/ the BMs holding a mixture of pink & lite purple roses.. it looked so nice against the dress, I knew I had to go w/ that. Also, I knew I didn't want to carry white flowers- so it all has to do with your 'vision' I guess.
It was easy with the kind of flowers i wanted, they were roses, and the red rose is my favorite. I knew I wanted a cascade for my boo-k, so the person whose handling the flowers, just showed me different kinds of the rose, and the girls are having a celedon dress, so we went with that.
I gave a swatch to my florist, told her some general preferences in terms of style, and then let her make suggestions. I didn't have any particular flowers in mind.
I basically knewe I wanted all roses and wanted to keep it simple and then I just looked at lots of centerpieces (thread) and went to Florist with ideas, I kept the rose idea but changed my centerpieces when I saw what the florist had to offer.
Thanks Jo-Ro
I basically knew what boquet I wanted for myself. I gave my florist a swatch and met with her. She was very helpful and gave me alot of her time. I basically got ideas from magazines too.
