Because we liked them. In fact, we painted before we even picked furniture, which was very hard!

I love color too. I have three/four rooms with yellow in them but they are all very different yellows. I think the living room is very warm and cosy feeling.
In my bathroom you need sunglasses with that yellow - it is sooooo bright. At first we were like but now we are used to it and love it.

What colors are you looking at? Show pics when you are done!

We kept some of the existing colors the previous owneres used (just refreshed the paint) b/c we liked the colors. We kind of matched out furniture around some of the paint. Others we matched the wall colors to our furniture, bedding, etc. We just went with what appealed to us. We stayed in the neutral tones downstairs and went with some more color in some of our other rooms....some of the colors look darker than what they are in the pictures - for some reason when I upload to shutterfly the color looks off.

We used Suede paint - RL - FAwns Leap in the bedroom

Pale Yellow w/green and wine/grape themed accessories in the kitchen.

Blue Benim - behr in our gym

BM - Salisbury green in our family room

We used a cocoa color by RL for dining room/living room - pre decorated room picture

Our bright yellow guest rooom - back wall is sponged - room also before major decorating changes

Our Office - is was something penny by Behr - it is more rust orange in person.

All our bathrooms are some kind of technique paint - either ragged or marble painting. The previous ower had done it and we kept it. One is navy, one bright pink (not my favorite color - but it is ok for now) and olive green.

How is Behr Paint? Is it better than Glidden?

We painted our Kitchen with Glidden Kittery point green. I will take pictures soon.

Our Bedroom is a very pale green that is Benjamin moore. I cannot think of the name now....but it is almost white....Very light green.

The bathroom is also a very light blue made by Benjamin moore.

The living room is going to be a medium blue, and we are going to sponge one wall. We are going to pick out the colors today.

I am not afraid of color but I will have to wait till I get a hose to have a red Dining room or anything with darker colors. We are going to living in a basement and things have to be lighter.

I struggled with this for months!!! I wanted color. My parents had off-white walls forever in our house. So I picked what I liked. Everyone has seen these already but here they are again

jan05 and hen - your ppictures look great. Looks like pictures out of magazines!!!

Danielle&Scott - I used Behr for a few rooms - I have read mixed reviews but I had no issue with the paint. Only the rust color - I needed 4 coats to get it right...but I know someone who use a similar color by BM and they used 3 coats and I was going over textured walls. The rest of the Behr paint I did a standard 2 coats.

Thanks danigir!l

Thanks! I love your rust color. I wanted that for the living room but FH thought it might be too orangy. When I get a house, I want to do a room that color!
My red took 3-4 coats also. The painter used BM flat white and mixed the color himself so it wasn't the paint but the color that was the problem.

Re: how did you pick your paint colors? show pics if you can too!

We actually just bought paint yesterday. We kind of had an idea of what color scheme we were looking for when we went furniture shopping. We picked a couch, chair and ottoman in a faded black soft cotton and the loveseat in a sea-like light blue-gray. Our living room has 15 foot ceilings and we wanted to maintain the open feel, so we decided to paint 3 of the walls white and one wall a drak blue-gray color. The dining room set is a dark wood and the chairs have creme seats. I really wanted the dining room to be really vivid since the living room is very calming, so we're going with a brightish green. It's called Scotland something, so it's kind of the color of grass. We'll trim everything out in white and add white crown moding. It 'should' be very striking. The kitchen has dark cherry colored oak cabinets so we're going with a mustardy-gold. When everything is down, which will be a while, I'll post pics.

You guys have some nice colors going. I was too much of a 'wuss' to pick out something more 'out there'. I went with Navajo white in my living room which looks nice.

We just picked out colors we liked.

Dining Room - BM Raisin Torte

Guestroom 1 - BM Audubon Russet

Guestroom 2 - BM Salisbury Green

(Excuse the mess! I just got new drapes and have yet to take another photo.)

Great Room - BM Dorset Gold (This room is only primed. Once we paint, it will be slightly darker in color.)

Niecey.... I have the same comforter set and was really wondering what color to do our walls when we move. My furniture is a lighter color wood, but I like the color you picked.... It was so nice to see something in person.

Everyone's rooms look so nice... I'm so afraid I'm going to pick the wrong colors.
