how did you pick your wedding date?

we knew we wanted a summer wedding (july or august) bc of teaching.

I have 3 weekends that i work in july/august so those were out...and then we saw what the venue had left and honestly i picked the 6th bc of my period...i didnt want to have it on the wedding lol

most of my family from OOS comes to NY in mid july... so rather than make them come a second time I did it when i knew theyd be here...

My grandparents anniversary would have been July 27th (married 59 years)....I'm using my grandmothers wedding ring and was named after her. So I wanted a date that was closest to that so July 29th it is! And Russo's had the date available so BAM....it all worked out!

We were flexible with our date for the most part & for what worked for our pocket. We wanted a Sept. October wedding & it worked out for us to get September ..When you pick your hall ask the price differences & they may sway you towards 1 date more than the other.

Exactly this. We were willing to go into November also, and every place we went to-- we just went through their availability and pricing.

11 is my favorite number and we lucked out that 11/11 is a Friday this year. The fact that it is also '11 is a bonus .

My fav holiday is Easter so I wanted the first weekend after that time. we couldn't afford a Sat night at Russo's so Friday it was! 4/20 was the first weekend and I didn't like the idea of getting married on national pot day so the following w/e was 4/27!

we chose september because we met in grade school and then met again in target years later in september. when i think of september i think the beginning of school. just seemed like the perfect month for us.

also - not as hot...which i like.

we originally wanted september 22nd because its the first day of fall...but friday is a cheaper wedding day. :)

I always knew I would want either a spring or fall wedding. I decided to go with early fall because theres less chance of rain and wont be too hot. I dont want to be a sweaty bride lol. Also oct is our anniversary month so I figured we can keep both our main anniversaries in the same month and oct will always be special to us.

We got engaged in February of this year and FH doesn't care about birthdays so he wanted it on any day during his birthday month so both can be celebrated. So we decided it to be November of this year.

I wanted a spring wedding but didn't want april or may because a lot of my friends are in grad school and have finals and or they were graduating his year. So we decided on June because we were hoping it wouldn't be too hot because we wanted an outdoor ceremony.

Our venue had booked all saturdays in june when we looked but it worked out because the minimum for a saturday was 150 vs 100 on fri or sunday. Plus, my parents and most of their friends own businesses where sunday is their only day off so it was more convenient for our guests anyway.

I picked june 5 because 6/5 is easy to remember vs the other sundays they had in june

Well, we knew we wanted a wedding in October. Then we also knew it would be on a Sunday, because we are both Jewish. So we chose the 9th because the 10th is Columbus day and figured alot of peeps would have off Mon!

We picked a time of year we wanted to get married and had our venues tell us the dates they had available. You can pick a date based on the time of year depending on your budget and you can be flexible on the day as well, if $$ is a concern. We had heard Fridays were little less so we chose a Fri. When the venue gave us the dates they had, one of them stuck out to us for some reason and we went with it.

I didn't want winter or summer because of the temperatures. We were thinking maybe May but that would have been 1 1/2 years planning and that was too long for me. So we went with fall and I wanted Sep so weather would be nice and not getting chilly. In that month the first 3 weeks were available on Sun . I liked 9/9/07 but the RH offered the labor day wkend for same price as others so we picked that one so guests had Monday off.

We wanted a fall or winter wedding and have always loved things like Halloween and dark things, so we picked the first Friday the 13th that was coming up, which ended up being in January 2012. :)

We knew that we wanted a wedding in either September, October, or November and we wanted a Saturday night. We found that November was significantly cheaper than September & October, and the 13th was the only Saturday night that the RH had left when we went there, so November 13th it was!

We were thinking fall or early spring. No summer because of the heat and no winter because FH's family is from Buffalo. So we decided on the fall and were open to late Oct/early Nov. We wanted a Saturday but the hall we wanted was $$$. So we went with a Sunday night but Colombus day weekend.

I've always wanted a winter wedding. It must be because i'm a winter baby. Well I was talked out of that because you never know if a blizzard might hit.

I was trying to come up with a time where we were both off, whether a holiday or the summer(I'm a teacher.) FH always has his vacation weeks, 1 in June and the other in August. This would make it easier for us to go on a honeymoon. June wasn't an option because the school year doesn't end until the end of that month. We picked August 5th since it was a Friday and it was the first one of the month. It gives us plenty of time to go on a honeymoon and a couple of weeks before the school year starts up again.
