I've heard all sort of romatic, espontaneous, surprising engagement stories...ahh! what's yours?
My was sooo sweet. It happened exactly 1 yr after we became boyfriend and girlfriend. It happened exactly at 12:00am Feb. 14th. We were supposed to go to upstate for our 1 yr anniversary/St. Valentine's Day. We stayed in the sweetest bed and breakfast ever and we had lots of snowbording plans for that weekend. We made late reservations in a new restaurant that had just opened in the little town where we stayed on Feb. 13th, and stayed until all the other customers were gone. My FH told me he needed to go to the restroom, and right after that the chef came to greet me and to tell me he would like to change our seats to a table that was right in front of a fire place. I was like sureeeee, we'd love to! Short after that, my FH came back and he suggested to interchange gifts. He wanted to be the first one to open his gift and as he was opening it, I started recording the whole thing, i had written on his card 'this is the best 365 days of my life because I have u as the best boyfriend' so he said 'remember how u wrote on the card u have the best boyfriend? well, I actually don't want to be be your boyfriend anymore -and paused for what it seems to have been the longest time!- I was like what!!! and he proceeded to tell me 'I want to be ur husband' as he toook out a ring and kneeled on one knee. This happened exactly at 12:00am on Feb. 14th...ahhhhh!

BF (at the time), I and my son Timothy arrived at WDW on Sat. 11/21. On Sunday we had plans to go to Magic Kingdom. At the time the sun was fading and the lights were coming on at Magic Kingdom. I wanted to take pictures of Cinderella's Castle.We had the Disney Cast Member to take some pics and then Timmy sat the rest out. As FH and I were heading up to the right side of the castle, I snapped some pictures. He mentioned to go to the other side of the castle, so off we went. We found a nook, and he behind me, I snapped pics of the castle changing colors. As I was snapping a picture FH mentioned that we haven't gotten any souvenirs from our trip. I mentioned it was our second day and I will be shopping before we leave the park tonight. He put the ring in front of me and said ( I get foggy here) something about 'this'. And there ya have it. We got engaged at the most magical place in the world!

It happened on the 5th of July 2009!!! He went fishing in the morning i was going to go but backed out bc i wanted to sleep... Lol so i layed out in my backyard until he came home. We were going to go out to dinner like we always did. So we went to Outback which was a restaurant we frequently went to over the course of our relationship. He kept telling me to drink.. i now know why..
It was a beautiful day so he asked what i wanted to do so i said lets walk on the beach.. I wanted to go to Robert Moses it was closed down due to construction i was soo mad.. then we drove by Jones beach and im like lets turn around don't want to go here. So we wound up at Captree and he was annoyed bc he is like where the hell is the beach theres just a boardwalk.. So we wound up at Overlook - a very special spot since FH use to fish there with his grandpa and i use to go with my parents to fish as well. We were laughing bc if u know the beach its eroded and there is hardly any sand.. So we sand down him behind me and i was laying there with him looking at the water. We were laughing and talking about how much fun we were having that summer and then i felt him go into his pocket.
I thought he might be getting his phone but then he put the box in front of me and he was asking me if i thought we would be together forever and said i think we will - with the box open... I was crying and said yes of course!!! I loved every min of it and it was just soo perfect bc i LOVE the beach!!!

Proposal John told me he was going to work so I was home watching TV. I received a phone call a couple of hours later to meet him in Queens b/c something had come up and he was unable to go to work. Next thing I know we are at my favorite park, ever! We walked along the path, and sat on a bench with the best view of the water and the Bridge (which connects my house to his house), he sat there talking and talking and saying how much he loved me. He had lost his phone two days prior and was using mine all day. He then said ' So how are you going to tell everyone when you don't have a phone?' to which I replied ' Tell everyone what?' and that's when he got down on one knee in a patch of rocks and asked me to marry him.
It happened on April 16th 2010 and it was the BEST day of my life!!!!!!!!!!! We had just moved into our apartment together and have been working extremely hard on it...we would work at our jobs during the day then come home at night and work continuously on moving, painting, cleaning and everything else!! We were such an amazing team and finally got it done.. it was about a week after we were all setteled and it was a Friday night.. he wanted to make me dinner (which is typical of FH) so I got a glass of wine and sat in the other room watching TV.. After about an hour, I ran out of wine!! and asked FH if he could go get some more which he kindly replied 'no hunni come eat dinner' (THIS I thought was weird since FH and I love wine with our dinner and the thought of not having any was odd!) ..anyway I go into our dining area and there were dozen roses, my favorite wine, dessert wine and champagne, lit candles everywhere!!!!! I was so impressed, and he cooked my favorite dinner, skirt steak and mashed potatoes!! (simple I know! but I love it) ... we sat down and began eating, FH was SOOOO nervous looking back on it .. he was sweating, studdering, and not making ANY sense when FINALLYY ... he comes around the table, I was confused and asked what he was doing... Then he GETS ON ONE KNEE!!! ahhhhh He took something out of his pocket and told me I was his best friend and everything thats important to him, that I was beautiful and he wanted me to be his WIFE!! He changed my life forever and I am so happy!! I was shaking and hysterically crying as I said YES of course.. we called all our family and friends with the good news and everyone already knew about it but ME! I cried so much after that the FH thought I was upset! LOL I told him I was soo happy ... The ring was gorgeous and the center stone is over 100 years old and was his great grandmothers and also the stone his dad have to his mom.. they are still married she just wanted me to have it as long as I pass it down which of course I will !!!!! Its my most prized possesion and i love it and my FH!!!!!!!!!! Cant wait to marry him!!!!!!!!

DH and I had planned to take a week of vacation but just had local day trips planned. Last minute I suggested we go away on a nice beach vacation or something...so we looked up packages and found a great deal for a week in Mexico. We booked it like 4 days before we were leaving.
Appearantly DH had been ring shopping already and had already purchased the diamond and knew which setting he liked, but had yet to buy it. So once we booked the trip he thought it would be the perfect opportunity to propose. He quickly went to the jeweler who had the setting he liked and gave them the diamond...he told them they had to do it ASAP bc we were leaving so soon.
Our first night in Mexico, we went out to dinner with a couple we met at the resort. We got back to the hotel after dinner and the other couple said they were going to find their friends and we should all go to a club. Well DH was like nooo lets stay here tonight (which surprised me that he didnt wanna go to the club). He was like lets take a walk. So we walked along the beach..and as we walked he started sounding nervous and saying all this romantic stuff...then got down on one knee and proposed!! It was really sweet and romantic....but it was dark so I remember I couldnt really see the ring other than it sparkling like crazy so after a few minutes I was like 'can we go inside now so I can see the ring?!'
OMG! I just totally cried here at my desk. that poem was beautiful!

I copied and pasted from off my wedding website...
On May 26, 2010 Amber joined her family at Christopher's first guitar recital. About 6:45pm she received a text from Brian saying he missed her so much so he was going to drive out to her in Long Beach. Little did Amber know that he and her mom were in cohoots! She arrived home at 9:00pm to find rose petals and candles all over the condo. He spelled out 'I LOVE YOU' with tea light candles and designed a large heart. Just outside that heart was Brian down on one knee....
OMG! I so cried watching this. It's great you got it on video. I love the woman yelling OMG! over and over. hehe

my fiance and i had been dating for about five years. we talked about marriage, but at the time, we had a lot going on, so the thought of a proposal was the last thing on my mind. it was christmas eve and i was at work. my office was closing early that day, so i wasn't planning on doing any work. one of the attorneys i work for called me up to a conference room to help him with some files. i was pretty annoyed b/c i was leaving the office in about an hour. little did i know, this was all a part of the plan. when i got up to the conference room and opened the door, my fiance was standing there with roses. i was in total shock and couldn't comprehend why he was there. he proposed and i said yes, obviously! i was still so confused how he got into my building b/c we have such high security and how he was able to book a conference room. it all made sense when i got back to my desk and all my co-workers were there with champagne and cupcakes. my fiance had been planning the engagement with them for a few months and they all knew about it. it was one of the best days of my life

08/08/08 We went to visit friends in Orlando for the weekend, brought FH's lil cousin with us, and we spent one whole day park hopping between all 4 parks. We started at Magic Kingdom, then back to Magic Kingdom to meet up with friends for the nightly parade and fireworks.
That night, Yova proposed to me at the Magic Kingdom during the Wishes fireworks show. (If you've never seen the fireworks show, it's all about wishes and there's music and cute inspirational sayings playing the backround during the light displays.)
Yova got down on one knee and said, 'Will you make my wish come true and do me the honor of being my wife?' and pulled out a lighted box with my beautiful ring.
It was the most amazing experience of my life. We have it all on video, but all you can see is me hysterically crying. hehehe im a sap!

We love hotels, so we went to the Plaza Hotel. He gave the butler the ring, and had him put it on the tray for our room service lunch. When I opened up the tray, there was my ring! I knew it was happening that day and weekend, but I cried anyway lol
