HOW DO I....

HOW DO I....

ask to have my ceremony music done for free as polite as possible...?

heres the situation: ive been involved in the choir at my church for ten years... we practice once a week and sing at mass on sundays... i asked the music director yesterday if he could make an announcement to my choir asking if anyone would want to sing at my wedding... i only invited my two closest friends from the choir to the reception.. but i cant invite all of them and i hope they understand... i would like them all to be at my ceremony though.. even if they werent singing i'd want them to be there... but how do i ask them to sing while also letting them know they are not invited to the reception?

Also, being part of this ministry involves three hours of time per week.. and for 10 years, i've given a lot of my time, and i dont want to be selfish but i think it would be a nice way to save a few bucks by not having to pay my music director... i know the cantor wont let me pay her.. but im not sure of the director...

what do you think??

i think you should ask them to play
and then tip them at the end.

you dont have to invite them to your wedding, but i certainly think they deserve a tip!

My bill was broken down and the fees for music are as follows:

$100 organist
$100 vocalist

Hope this helps
