Animals throw their gum in the street and of course i step on it, go it on my car mat & on my spare bedroom rug

I would try putting a thin rag on the floor and then put the iron on top of it.. the gum should stick to the rag.

HA! HA! I thought it was her pets too. Not to make fun of you But when my dog would get a hold of a pack of gum he would chew it & spit it out. I would come home to find every piece chewed. Guess the flavor ran out. But Back to your problem, I think ice would do the trick.
