My wedding is a month away and I don't know what I have to do at the town hall?
I live near Huntington, can I go to that town hall to get paperwork. Please help!

go to the clerk's office in any town.. Bring an original birth certificate AND a passport or license. Its 40 bucks for the fee i believe. Bring your fiance too! You both need to be there, they will give you your marriage license which will have to be brought with you to the church /officiant on your wedding day to be signed.

Also...the town clerk in Huntington is open from 8:30-4:15 but they say to get there by 4pm to ensure you get the license. They take cash or check. The license takes 24 hours to mature from the time that it was issued, so I would advise you to go there at least 2 days before your wedding.

Random question about this. I know I have about 10 months til my wedding...but, how far in advance can you get the marriage license before the wedding? FH travels for a month or so at a time with his job...so, we are trying to figure out the best way to do this.

No, you have to be with in 45 days of the wedding date...

No. You have to have it at least 24 hrs before but no more than 60 days. You are good just dont go the day before.

I've been WAITING to go get mine... I wanted to run down to the clerk months and months ago!! I swear, I am soo pumped on going down there and getting it, that I think as soon as I hit that validity period I am going to run and do it!!

The marriage license is valid for 60 days (so you can't get it until you are at least 60 days until your wedding).
Once you get the marriage license it takes 24 hours from the time you got it for it to mature.
