I really want to do one of those first dances, where you start with your chosen, slow song and -bam- pull out a quirky fast number and entertain the guests a bit. Nothing too long or crazy... but my fh isnt even thrilled about slow dancing let alone, being in front of people breaking into some moves... how can i convince him to do one of those dances with me?

Maybe find a movie or something that shows it - make sure that the reaction of the crowd in the movie or show is a good one.

That could work. I was thinking about the same thing but my FH wont have anything to do with it. Especially now that FMIL bought him professional dance lessons for his birthday. I highly doubt a professional ballroom instructor is going to let us choreograph that into our first dance. We shall see.

How about a dance lesson for the two of you? FH and I had our first lesson last week and had a great time. FH is not big on dancing so when he said he liked it, I booked 4 more lessons!!

A few years ago i was in a wedding where he DIDN´T dance. he stressed that whenever he was asked. In the 5 years they were together he only danced with her maybe 1 or 2 times after pleading!! my firend made sure that the limo was stocked on the way to the reception hall. By the time he got there he was in dancing mood!!! I´ve never seen him like that!! So basically my answer is alcohol!! I find it is the answer to most important questions!!

Just make sure he doesn't drink toooo much because then I don't think him not dancing will be your main concern.

That is my plan of attack for my wedding.
My FH doesnt dance, only has like two times in our relationship and they were both when he was loaded.

I love this post...I am also trying to get my FH to do this. I am a big cheeseball, and would love to do something silly and different. I watched some of these on youtube and then lured him into watching some. He is not thrilled, but would do it if I asked him .

My parents went to a coworkers wedding, and the bridal party had a whole choreographed dance routine for their entrance...
