How do I install a downloaded font into Word?

How do I install a downloaded font into Word?

I'm trying to make some DIY projects and I can't figure out how to use the fonts I've installed. Can someone please explain it to me? Thanks!

go to www.dafont.com - they have many free fonts....

download them onto your desktop or another folder where you can remember ....

select the fonts, copy them

then, open up 'control panel' and select the folder named 'fonts' - paste the fonts into there.

you're ready to go!

I've had these downloaded fonts hanging out on my hard drive for months and I haven't been able to use them.
