how do I let people know...
that they are invited to join us at the rehearsal dinner?? Are we supposed to send out invitations or just spread the word? FMIL said she heard that invitations are supposed to be sent out by her??

Who is paying for the rehearsal dinner? I would assume that whoever is paying would be sending out the invites. We just did word of mouth because up until the week before the church was trying to change the date and time.

Re: how do I let people know...
You can send out invitations or just personally call guests and ask them to come. If you FMIL is paying for the RD then she should send out the invites. If you are paying for it then you should.

I've seen it done both ways. If you are ivniting a lot of people to the RD, I would maybe do invitations so people have to RSVP so you can give the restaurant a final count. If its smaller, word of mouth should be fine.

This! We're likely going to be paying for the RD ourselves, so we'll send out the invites.

I am going to do invites, but more like a time line. Part of our rehearsalis at the church, so putting the times of confession, actual rehearsal with priest and then the time the restaurant starts. Also, going to include a direction card. Going to print them myself, probably something from Staples or Michaels.

Re: how do I let people know...
If she's hosting it it would make sense for her to send out invitations, but I don't think theirs a hard-fast rule about RD invitations. You could probably just tell everyone who is invited.

FMIL is paying for our dinner. She asked if I wanted invitations and I told her it didn't matter. She founds a cute poem she liked. So we just bought card stock and FH just made it in publisher and we printed them. We only needed 28 so we did half sheets of paper and normal envelopes. I think the only thing cost maybe 15 bucks.

we are sending out invitations but we are also inviting over 100 people since all the out of towners are invited. if it is only bridal party and immediate family i wouldn't do one. our parents each gave us set dollar amounts to do what we want with so we are mailing out the RD invites from us and including both of our parents name on the wedding invite.Welcome New Vendors
