How do I remove the glue after the wallpaper is down?

The painter removed the wallpaper. However, there is still glue on the walls. He was in the process of removing it when he injured himself. So I figured I could finish the job. How do I remove the glue?

There is this blue goop stuff you can buy, you spray it on the walls and then use a spackle knife thingy (very technical term there) and it should come off.

Well, first you could try a solvent (you might want to ask the folks at Home Depot or a local hardware store for recommendations).

The other option is literally sanding down the glue with a fine sandpaper. It can be tricky though...you don't want to end up sanding off the drywall paper.

if you take a bucket of water and a sponge and wet the wall and let it soak in for a few minutes and then scrape it off with one of those wall paper remover scrapers it works pretty well. i think they sell something you can spray on the walls too. i think it's called dif of something like that

I think vinegar in a spray bottle works wonders!

We used Def to remove paper and then sprayed it on again to remove the glue...was very easy!

I used Dif (wall paper remover) and warm water and sponge to clean the glue..it was really annoying.

Make sure you buy the right kind of primer to paint on the walls after you try removing the glue.

DIF! I just did this a couple of days ago. It's the blue goopy stuff and it worked great!!! I sprayed it on then sort of dabbed it around with a sponge, let it sit for a couple of minutes and scraped it off with a scraper (no idea what it's really called...sort of like what you'd use to put spackle up?) It was messy but sooo easy!
