How do invitations work with vendors?

How do invitations work with vendors?

What is the benefit of this? If you find an invitation and ask them to quote you a better price?

If I have no idea what invitation I want....can I ask a vendor for help? How does it work?

what are you babbling about silly girl??

ok...when i first went invite shopping i was just as confused as you appear...

there are manufacturers of invitations (just like anything else) and people who are licensed (permitted/allowed/whatever) to sell them...(i could not find any manufacturer who would deal with the public directly)

anyway...it helps if you have an idea of what you are looking for (as far as style, design, etc...) when you find one you like (after looking through countless books and websites) you can start going to places that carry them and see who gives you the best price...

i found that most places have the books from the manufacturers and they tell you: 'we give a certain % off of the listed price...'

i used laura from l.a. productions...she gave me some pretty awesome deals...

Ohhhh I got it now! So you have to have an invite in mind and then you can shop around for prices. Sounds good! Thanks Kel!

Now I have to find one I like. Everytime I think I found one, we get a sample and are not happy!

I'm not sure if this answers your question or not, but I looked online and in paper stores (Cranes, Papyrus, etc.) for different invites until I found one I wanted and ordered it.

I used an online vendor and everything was coordinated through email - even the proofs. I have an extremely hectic schedule so that made my life easier than trying to visit vendors, but that's all up to personal taste.
