how do u handle when ur FH gives u compliments?

when FH compliments my looks I always think he is just saying that, same as I feel when my parents say that I look beautiful.
FH gets really upset that I treat him saying the truth so rudely in his opinion.

I dont know, its very hard for me to receive compliments, esp when FH gives them b/c I feel as if he has to say that cause his my FH

how do u guys handle that?

i do the same thing... i say thanks but im usually sarcastic about it... when i compliment him he eats it up though... hes very vain! LOL

After 10 years, I don't get many compliments anymore.......just because I guess he feels he doesn't have to as much, lol. So when I do, I say thank you and give him a kiss

I do the same thing- and he gets so mad hes like 'I dont HAVE to compliment you, you know' I am like yes you do! lol

I say awww, thanks babe. Eventhough I don't believe it / feel it sometimes, I don't want to upset him by saying yeah right and roll my eyes.

I get more compliments when I feel like I look the worst.. like i just got out of the shower the other night and I was in my robe with no makeup and hair wet.. he was like.. you look pretty out of the shower, lol. I was like really????? cause I felt like pooooooo

I pretend to vomit. No, really, I do. And he does the same if I compliment him. Usually we just laugh about it, but sometimes I wish we'd be a little more serious.

depending on my mood, and how i feel about myself when hes giving the compliment, ill either roll my eyes and be like whatever. or ill be like Thanks!! hehe

I usually just say Awwwwwww thanks (and add whatever pet name I feel like calling him).

FH usually criticizes me in public and complains about me.. so when we're alone he compliments me im like yea yea whatever.. sometimes i smile. but usually i ignore him

'awww' or 'thanks' and hug and kiss him. Or compliment him back!

Or say 'noo' because I don't think I look good, and then he GETS SOOO MAD when I talk bad about myself.

I've found that compliments in general make me uncomfortable, but I've also found that if someone is complimenting you they hate it when you react negatively.

I've learned to smile and say 'Thank you' even if I feel like the compliment isn't true.
