How do we endorse the checks?

I am getting Checks for Mr. and Mrs. M.... since Mrs. M doesn't exist, should I endorse the check (as Mrs M)? Should just FH do it? Should I endrse it as Ms B?

Just FH...You can not sign the checks at all

This is what we did. For any check written out to 'mr and mrs. Kevin D', I signed Stephanie (maiden name) then under that Stephanie (married name) and then DH signed them below that. There was absolutely no problems with that. You need to sign it if it is made out to you as well

You have to sigh the check in both names...your madien and your married name....You'll have to do this till the name is changed on the acct.

We endorsed each check as it was written. If it said Mrs S I wrote that, if it said Christine S, I wrote that. We deposited all the checks in DH's account - which I am not listed on - and we had no problems.

fh signed them. we havent had any problems

90% of our checks were made out to Mr. and Mrs. S. Since I was legally still Miss D when we got back from the honeymoon, he signed all the checks. They all went in.

If you are only depositing the checks and not cashing them, then you don't even need to sign them. Just write 'For deposit only' on the back and you are OK.

We got our first check like that the other day. Only FH signed it, but we went to deposit it together. The teller was like 'This isn't your name, you shouldn't have people write out checks like this' Um... Yeah, I didn't tell them to write Mr. and Mrs. HisName, 'cause one, it's obviously not my name and two, I'm not changing my name even after the wedding. But they took it.

DH signed all of them and put them in our joint account. Only one was actually made out to Mr. John Doe and Mrs. Sarah MaidenName. I signed that one.

check with your bank. DH and I have accounts (not yet joint) at the same bank and they said before the wedding that either of us could sign any checks, no matter how they were written out.

I certainly planned on signing the checks....I figured that I would just check with the bank. I'm not cashing our presents for 2 weeks (since wew won't be home) I figure by the time we come back I can change my name..hopefully (it's as easy as I think it is!)

She's got it right! I work at a bank.....more reasons why it ***** that the girl is the one to change her name.....we get to sign 8000 checks TWICE!!
