I never did it, but you could go to Michael's or any craft store and buy magnets. they have ones that are sticky on one side. Then, use word or publisher or something to make the design, then just cut the paper to fit the magnet and stick it on. If they don't have magnets that have sticky on one side, you could use labels, this way the paper will stick directly to the magnet.

I printed mine out on sheets of magnetic business card paper. They also have full sheets that you can cut into whatever size or shape you want.

we had full sheets of magnetic paper from staples, we used a business card template and made what we wanted, then we fit 12 to a page, i think, and used a paper cutter to cut them after.
