How do you become a wedding coordinator?

After my wedding, everyone told me that I should be a wedding coordinator because they were all amazed by how wonderful my wedding was, and how I was almost completely stress-free throughout the process. Everyone starting asking me for help putting together their weddings. The truth is, I really did love putting my wedding together, from the registering to the listening of bands. I wonder how I could start doing this. I think that I have great taste, which of course is number one to planning a wedding, but also I am a very calm person, so I think I could help people in that regard. I have a masters degree in counseling, which is sometimes needed with wedding planning too . I'm wondering if anyone has any feedback.. Thanks!

try to get an assistants job @ either a wedding or events planning company. its a good foot in the door.

You could either work for a wedding planner/coordinator or start your own business.

I suggest NETWORKING.

Maybe you can start doing a few weddings for friends (free or relativelly cheap) to get a client base/referals.

Then you could be a vendor like on this site or anoher website.

Please do not underestimate NETWORKING (again!).... referals/word of mouth is crucial in that kind of business.

Get yourself some business cards. When meeting people at weddings, social event,s give your business card (when appropriate).
