Our den is 10 ft and 6 inches by 17 ft. How do I decide the size of the rug? I bought a 9ft by 11ft needlepoint rug from ABC Carpet and I can't tell whether it works or not. Any advice?

Usually you're supposed to show approx 3' of flooring around the perimeter.
It also depends on what size pieces of furniture you have, like large armoires and such.

I think Home Decorators Collection has something one their website about how to measure for rugs.
