None of my out of towners decided to stay at the two hotels where I blocked rooms. They decided to book their own hotels in scattered locations throughout the city.
How should I handle the out of town bag situation?! I don't think I trust the individual hotels to give it to them when they check in...and I don't think i'll have time to see them before the wedding (I'm not doing a rehearsal dinner).
Is it okay to just give it to them at the wedding? like when they're leaving? (i think all of them are staying until sunday at least)

no...they all already made their own plans to meet up with people they know in the city I won't even get to see them before the wedding!

i might be wrong but i think u leave them in the rooms so when they go in, they are already there...or give it to the hotel staff and they put it in the rooms

yeah...I agree with Jenise...If you can drop them at the hotels where the guests are staying...I'm pretty sure you 'should' be able to trust the hotel staff..

are they all arriving at the same time from the airport cause you can distribute that way
on a serious note... is there a reason why you dont trust the hotels they booked? I would leave it with them and call to make sure they got the OOTB and to welcome them.

I think that's really your only option Jen. They tend to keep them behind the desk & when that person checks in - they hand them the box!

hahaha. i guess i'm just worried that they'll forget because it's only a few guests staying per each hotel. So i have maybe 30 OOT guests, staying at 5-10 different hotels (we're still trying to track down hotel info for some of them)

for our wedding, the guests that elected NOT to stay at the blocked hotels didn't get OOT bags.
we felt if they really wanted to be part of the hospitality we were trying to setup, they would have stayed at 1 of the hotels we went through the effort of blocked rooms at.
it was just too much of a hassle the week of the wedding to deal with going around to different hotels or schlepping them to the welcome dinner. there was too much else going on.
it might sound harsh, but trust me, its aggravation you don't need.
in your case, maybe skip the bags all together?!

personally if they arent in your hotels you arent responsible to give OOT bags.
if you really want to have something for them... you have 3 choices
(1) trust the hotels they are staying at to distribute them
(2) have a friend or groomsman drive around and deliver them
(3) send the packages to them the week before the wedding with a lil note or something..'we wanted your trip to be great right from the start, so we made you this care package direct from the heart.' (sorry its corny but its the only thing i could think of on the spot lol)

I agree with her! Why did they chose to not stay where you asked them to? If you really want to then you have to go to the hotels where they are staying and ask them to give it to them when they check in....good luck!

I agree with her! Why did they chose to not stay where you asked them to? If you really want to then you have to go to the hotels where they are staying and ask them to give it to them when they check in....good luck!
Could it be they got cheaper deals elsewhere ??? That's the only reason that makes sense to me.

But they actually chose to stay at more expensive hotels, in manhattan. I think they wanted to stay in the city at 'posher' places. i only blocked at the Wingate Inn and The Andrew in Long island (which to me seemed like two fine choices).
They never mentioned anything about wanted to stay in the city, so i didn't think to block rooms there.
I guess i can skip the OOT bags then! one less expense! Or if i have time, i'll pack a mini goody bag to give to them after the wedding.
