naming your baby after an ex of yours or FH's /DH's?
DH and I are talking about baby names (we're not pregnant yet) and he mentioned that he liked the name Brendan. I said that I dated a guy name Brendan so it's automatically out for me.
DH doesn't seem to think it's a big deal and Brendan is still in his top two. I thought that was so weird that he wouldn't care that our baby would share a name with an ex of mine
I know it's just a name but I would NOT be okay with our babies having the same name as any of his ex'es. Not okay with me!

I am NOT ok with it BUT my x's name is Luis too lol (my 1st Bf)... and Luis wants to name our Luis too... So....

I guess it doesn' tbother me because when I hear his name I think of him not my ex? if that makes any sense.
This! LOL That's so funny, I was like no way I'd ever name my kid after my ex, then I realized I'm marrying a guy with the same name as my ex
It's such a common name though, I would def not name my kid after an ex with a less common name - or a girl he ever dated

I know it sounds silly but neither FH or I would want to name one of our kids the same name an one of our exes!

It just depends on the person i guess, if the husband & wife are OK with it -- who are we to judge.
they said it was bc her HS bf was killed or died and she always said she would name her child after them. it's not his first name- i think it was like one of his 3 middle names lol

There is a boys' name that I love, but it happens to also be the name of a guy I dated. My real issue with it is that, because we have friends in common, the ex would definitely think I was some crazy stalker and named my child after him.
Luckily, the names FH and I have discussed aren't names of people we've dated.

The name i like for a son is my Ex's name. but i was 13. sooooo i dont think it really counts. Fh likes the name too
