if Fri was a holiday..id think you get a better turn out! Also if you have alot of OOT guests....ppl are going to take off im sure to make it a long weekend! So that also make you have more ppl attend.

I agree with the poster who noted a better turnout if the day after was a holiday.
Thursdays are a tricky business! If you are having a REALLY small wedding where you intend to only include the closest of family and friends - then I am sure people will come regardless - they want to be with you.
But as to colleagues and folks who might not be as close...
I don't see myself wanting to attend a Thursday wedding if I have to get up for work the next morning. If I did attend, I would probably leave super early.
That said... it may keep costs very low - becuase a lot of people may not be able to make it!

I'm thinking of having the wedding on a Thursday night to keep the cost down. What do you girls think about a Thursday night?
Do you think some guest wouldn't come? Do you think some will be annoyed? Do you think people really wouldn't care?
Any thoughts?
Honestly, do what pleases YOU. People were annoyed that our wedding was on Sunday, that it was in NY, that it was in Nassau not Suffolk or Queens, that it was planned a year in advance and yet they couldn't attend because someone else planned a cruise wedding for the same week...they didn't approve of the hall, they doubted the floral choices, the cake choices, the entree and CH choices, they weren't sure about the DJ since they wanted a band.....
my point is this, some people will LOOOOOOVE everything you plan and some will LOATHE everything. You cannot please everyone, it's impossible. what you can do is give them the best time possible and enjoy YOUR wedding.
