Ok- I wanted to customize my invites in my colors and have something layered with a ribbon- but now that we've been invited to 4 weddings and 3 showers in the next 3 months,i can't afford to spend more than $300 for $100 invites (The one's I originally loved were over $400 for 100). There are lots of beautiful invitations in that price range, but none of them come in the right colors!
So, I went yesterday to look at more simple invites within my budget. My new plan is to tie a satin ribbon around the invitation, response and reception cards to hald them together and add some depth.
My colors are gold, brown, ivory and fall colored flowers.
I really like this one- the paper is a normal cardstock weight (i did see some that were HEAVY weight- which I think is classy- but they weren't as pretty) Its an ivory shimmery paper with a pearl flowered border. Do you think it would look ok with a brown satin ribbon tied around it?

This is pretty. I received a sample that was very similar to this and it was one of my favorites. To be honest you may not even need the ribbon, just add a colored font. Go with your gut!

I love them! I almost used those for my invites. The ones I ended up picking were very close to that. I think they are gorgeous.

Re: How do you feel about this invitation?
I'm in love with that invitation - in fact, I chose it.
BUT
then FH's cousin got the rectangular version of the same invite....so I had to choose something else.
Do you have samples? Its pretty as is - I wouldn't add a ribbon or anything - just use brown ink!
eta: If you'd like, I can send you samples. I have the main invite AND the insert cards. I requested them from the company. FYI - they sell them at Party City. I was getting 100 with extra envelopes and all colored ink for about $300. (They offer a 30% discount there!!!!)

I think they are pretty. You might even want to get a mocha or brown colored font to match the ribbon. I used mocha font on my invites, and I love it. It almost looks black, but just softer.
