Well this is the resume that I actually hand delievered to the Superintendent!!
I am not a pushy person and I am not so assertive...I know people said that I should follow up with a phone call...so what do I say???

Re: How do you follow up when you send a resume??
I have never followed up on a resume, but I would think that a phone call is a good idea, since sending a letter would probably just get mixed up in all the other resumes coming in. It would make you stand out.

Any suggestions about what I should say??

Re: How do you follow up when you send a resume??
I wouldn't call...I would email something like this:
To Whom it May Concern:
I'm writing to confirm your receipt of my resume.
I am very interested in the position of XYZ, and feel that I would be a very suitable fit for the position. I am confident that I would be a great asset to your 'School/Company, etc' and would like to discuss this in greater detail.
Please contact me at your earliest convenience at (XXX) XXX-XXX or via email.
Thank you for your time in advance, and I look forward to hearing from you.
Warmest Regards, Kathleen XYZ

Re: How do you follow up when you send a resume??
I would say something like: Hi _________ This is _________, I dropped off my resume on __________. If there is anything else that you need, please do not hesitate to call. I am looking forward to meeting you again, and as a past student, I am really excited about the prospect of working for your school district.

Re: How do you follow up when you send a resume??
If you send a letter it won't get there for a couple of days and I know that there a lot of schools are starting workshops and stuff next week so call!! I know what you mean...I don't like to feel that I'm being too assertive either, but in this case I would go for it! Just call and say that you were in the building and dropped off your resume the other day and you would love the opportunity to work in the school district if there were any positions available. Keep it short and sweet!

Personally I like a hand written note. Of course, it all depends on how organized your principal is and will it get lost on the desk?
Best of luck to you!
