How do you get

your FH a ring w/o knowing his size, BECAUSE its a suprise...

Can they be adjusted? What should you do?

does he have any other rings? you can trace it on a piece of paper and they can determine the size from that.
otherwise, what kind of metal do you want to get? Titanium can't be resized, but most others can.

when he isn't looking, take a ring that he already has and put it on your fingers, then you could possibly judge it when you pick his size in the store.

Yes, rings can be re-sized. . . but a man's ring size is almost always his shoe size HTH.

What my FH did with my e-ring, which I thought was genius was he took a piece of paper and made it into a thin cone like the ones in the jewelry store. Took another ring of mine and marked off on the cone.

I was told that a mans shoe size is the same as his ring finger. When I bought joes Handfasting ring I bought it based on that. It was half a size too big. But I was suprise how close it was.
I'm sure you could get the ring resized after you give it to him.

I thought you base something else form their shoe sizes... or is that their hands?

The shoe size thing is oddly accurate, plus or minus about 1/2 a size. I like the cone idea that was mentioned...that's brilliant!
