How do you girls feel.... (dress q.)

How do you girls feel about getting a custom wedding dress made from scratch? Last night my mom and I went to Elegant Affairs in Oceanside (opened in April) and they make custom wedding dresses and bridesmaid dresses. I saw the top of one that I really liked but i have NO clue what to do with the bottom. They told me what they could do but i'm so not a fashion person and can't really picture it unless i see it.
I think i'm passing on the wedding dress but it's def a option for the BM dresses. The one's that i love by Enzoani are $300 each but i brought a pic, he showed me the color swatch he has and it's perfect, and said they could make it for $180. The only thing is alterations aren't capped. But if the girl is getting measured for that dress and not just a size then i'm thinking there wouldn't be that much to alter. Unless the girl gains or loses a lot of weight which in all honestly, isn't my problem lol.

Wow this is really good to know. There are expensive BM dresses I love, and that place is literally down the block from FH's house so I may have to check them out.

Anyways... I think it would be a good thing to do, especially for your BM dress. Can you just take the BM dresses when they're done and not use this center for alterations? Then the girls can go elsewhere if they need alterations and it may be cheaper. A 2009 bride used them for their wedding dress, I think it is seawedding. I think she had a slight problem with them but it was resolved. Maybe reach out to her?

i think if you really can't find something that you love, then this could be a great way to go. one of my friends had her dress custom made & it was beautiful, everything she ever wanted.
i to would be a little bit uneasy about not seeing if before the final product but my grandmother used to make wedding dresses & she always said that in all the years no one ever disliked their dress.

as for the bridesmaid dresses you should talk to your girls & get their opinions. it is a huge savings for them.

I say why not!!!! it sounds amazing and then u can get the dresses u really love!! I absolutely adore the Enzoani line and wanted my girls to wear the short dresses and my mom to wear the long one.. but not sure if thats gonna happen. i def dont want them spending a ton of money.. it is a gorgeous line so I say go for it!!:)
