How do you go about..

Inquiring to see if a church will marry you?

I grew up Lutheran, FH grew up Catholic, and after researching...we figured out we want to be married either Lutheran or Episcopalian.

We want to use a church close to our reception, but I am not sure how do go about seeing if they will marry us....any help ladies??
TIA!!

I would give the church a call and explain your situation. Hopefully you can schedule a meeting with a pastor and go from there.

Word of advice: Don't tell the church that you have already booked your hall.. Churches feel that they should be the first priority..at least in my experience.

My FI is Lutheran and I'm catholic we are getting married in a catholic church...we basically just met with the Decon and he asked we get our baptism papers and then we filled out something saying that we were an interfaith marriage. and he had to send it to the Bishop i think....and that was that...pretty easy!

I was surprised that is was so easy

I am Catholic and FH is Lutheran. We are getting married Lutheran.
When I called the Lutheran church, all they asked was if one of our family's were affiliated with the church. (FH Family is). That was all.
They took my name and date and reserved in a book, and then sent me some paper work to fill out. I couldn't believe how easy going they were, compared to the Catholic church.

Just call a church and ask, it was really easy!!
