How do you handle -???

How do you handle -???

Hey girls! Okay, not sure exactly how to start this but I'm a bit upset on one of the 'supposedly' members in the entourage. Worse, it's my fiance's family! You see, I am not going to have bridesmaids but there are still some parts of the wedding that 'adults' can take part on. So I emailed her to ask if she would like to be part of the wedding... she did not reply. Instead, she asked my fiance - because she is not a bridesmaid! (With an attitude!)

So, FM confirmed that I am not going to have bridesmaids but we'd like her to still be part of it and asked her again if she will be willing to be part of it.

Well, she hasn't responded.
I don't even want her in it anymore but FM said, 'I should wait.' But for how long am I supposed to wait for her?

Well Geez, she's just being a bit of a kill joy isn't she? Does she have any other sisters or close girlfriends? Maybe she saw you as her last hope in the bm department? I say give it time, she should break out of it soon.

Unfortunately, my FM's family is really small so I am including every possible niece and sister I could. (That only sums up with 4, by the way)... and it's been a month and a half!

I told my MOH that I am not even going to push it- if she responds then great but if she doesn't and it's time for the dresses then I need a replacement. Is that mean?

I am not having any bridesmaids either. I asked my 3 close friends and future sis-in-law to take parts.

2 are doing readings, 1 is standing up there w/ me, and the other is giving the toast at the reception.

Maybe if you tell her what part you would like her to play?

I'm not doing BM dresses and made that a point to all the ladies and said they can wear what ever they want. The one standing up w/ me is getting a bouquet and the others are getting coursages.

if you are askingher to be part of your wedding, you might want to do it in person or at least over the phone. email is kind of a cold way to ask someone to be part of your special day. if you ask her in person or over the phone, at least you will get an answer right away.

now, you said if she doesnt respond its time for dresses...if shes not a BM than you can do dresses without her anyways, unless of course you want her to wear a specific dress. if thats the case, i know i would be put off if someone asked me to be part of their wedding-but not a BM- and STILL required me to wear a specific dress. but this might not be what you meant, i don't know.

good luck!

I would call her or try to get her in person...my bros fiance was stalling until i basically cornered her and asked her and still got no response, so in my book shes out..

If you can, see her in person and ask her straight out...and if she doesnt reply..id count her out...not to sound heartless, but you have planning to do..she cant drag her feet...esp if she doesnt like the way you want YOU wedding!

Hi! Actually, I originally wanted to ask her in person but we do not have her phone number. She left home to move in with a guy and since then we don't know where to contact her. I asked for her phone number several times before but she never provided it. I asked FH to ask for her number but no luck either. She only emails. Her parents moved as well so no contact from them either. So I am really relying on emails alone.

FH also wanted me to come with them for dresses since we are planning on paying for it. But we'll definitely let her choose her own style of dress.

But yeah, no response from her. We actually wanted her to do the candles as representative of the family-- especially that I'm closer to her!

i would just copy that forward the message again to her, with the forwarding info that comes up in emails, and just write

nevermind.

So she'd know she'd been dis-invited to partake in the wedding.

I think I agree....she doesnt seem too interested... I would be so hurt if my BMs did that to me..Youre worth more than that!!

You still have a while before the wedding and things will change a million times before then so my advice is to not sweat it so much for now and concentrate on really fun stuff like dress and shoe shopping!!
