How do you handle holidays with the in-laws?

We always have a dilemma......because if we go to my FH's family, my family takes it all personal and thinks they are stealing me away. We try to alternate, but I am really dreading Thanksgiving and Christmas as a newlywed I can see the arguments now!

We alternate. The alternation only includes Thanksgiving, Xmas, Easter, Mothers Day. For Xmas though, if we don't see one on the 25th, we make sure to set up a time to get together with everyone from the other family that weekend or the weekend before.

My family is farther away. If they were in the same area we'd prob. try to visit both on each day.
