every time we pay something we updated it and email it to each other...

Re: How do you keep track...
i am an accountant... if you saw my excel spreadsheet you would just laugh. It tracks the budget, the over(under), the actual costs, payments made, payments remaining, who paid for what, how it was paid, payment dates...etc! my wedding excel workbook has like 20 tabs!

Re: How do you keep track...
I have an excel spreadsheet. I put our budget amount, the total spent, and total to be spent at the top. Below I have it broken down by category and vendor payments. As payments get made, the totals at the top automatically change (I set up formulas) so I can see how we are doing.

Bex, we are not keeping track of every little #...my mom and I were just discussing the other day how we won't be sure exactly what this wedding is gonna cost. All I know is that she is still comfortable with how much of their money we're spending so we're all good haha

Re: How do you keep track...
I kept all my receipts and I kept a spreadsheet of everything bought. But at the end I just gave up and didn't even bother adding stuff to the spreadsheet; I didn't want to know how over budget we went.
