How many rooms to block at a hotel?

we blocked off the maximum possible free amount which was 15

My hotel (COurtyard at Marriott in Farmingdale) only does 10 at a time. So once those 10 are up, they can add more if you want.

I call once in awhile to see if I should add another 10.

Think of how many OOT guests, and ask around and see who will be staying. Start with 10, and add on. Different hotels might have different policies too.

Just dont put down any money for it!!!

When it's a month before the event, they release the rooms to the public, so you SHOULDN'T be responsible for any rooms.

Depends on the hotel. Different hotels also have minimums. Make sure you don't get charged if the rooms don't end up getting booked.
Ours was 10 min.

Mine does 10 at a time without holding you financially responsible for unbooked rooms, so that's what I did.

THis is the Marriott in Uniondale.

we were only allowed to block 15 at a time unless we wanted to guarantee a certain number (which means we would get stuck paying if those rooms werent booked)

so we booked 15 and have just kept adding rooms as they get filled up.
